  • Sugar Snap Peas

    Ok, so I really can't find any information specifically if Sugar Snap Peas are legal on Induction or on the Veggie Rung or do you have to wait til the Legume Rung.

    I know with Sugar in the name I'm probably not gonna wanna hear the answer to this...LOL.

      here ya go, went to get it!


      Vegetables - You can have two to three cups per day of:

      • alfalfa sprouts
      • mushrooms
      • endive
      • parsley
      • bok choy
      • peppers
      • celery
      • fennel
      • radicchio
      • chicory
      • radishes
      • chives
      • lettuce
      • romaine lettuce
      • cucumber
      • sorrel


      These salad vegetables are high in phytonutrients and provide a good source of fibre.
      Other Vegetables - You can have one cup per day of these veggies if salad does not exceed two cups. The following vegetables are slightly higher in carbohydrate content than the salad vegetables:

      • artichoke
      • celeriacy root
      • pumpkin
      • artichoke hearts
      • rhubarb
      • asparagus
      • bamboo shoots
      • spring onions
      • sugar snap peas
      • bean sprouts
      • mange tout
      • spinach
      • broccoli
      • hearts of palm
      • string beans
      • broccoli
      • squash
      • brussel sprouts
      • tomato
      • bean sprouts
      • leeks
      • turnips
      • cabbage
      • water chestnuts
      • cauliflower
      • onion

            I just realised the stuff i pasted was from a weird website

            however ive asked this question before and im positive they class the same as the count for snow peas which is on the list in the book.

              Here's the thing about peas...

              If the "peas" you are eating are enclosed in a pod and you EAT THE POD and the pea inside is small (like snow peas and sugar snap peas and even GREEN BEANS) it is considered "vegetable" rung not starchy veggie rung. Basically what you are ingesting is the POD and the pea or bean is insignificant.

              If the "peas" you are eating are enclosed in a pod that you DISCARD and only eat the pea/bean--like green peas, black eyed peas, lima beans, etc. THOSE are starchy veggies.

                  Very interesting Joy...Thanks so much for that information. I never knew that before.

                  I had 10 sugar snap peas pod and all with my lunch and they were yummy.
