  • Gaining Weight??

    I cant seem to lose anymore weight ... and now i keep gaining 1/2 a pound everyday??????

    Yesterday i ate :

    4 scrambled eggs with a little onion for flavor

    1 pork chop

    1 chicken thigh

    1 cup cooked veggies ( broccoli/coliflower)


    veggies & eggs cooked in butter
    Chicken & porkchop pan fried in olive oil

    about 60 oz of water ..


    So tell me what i did wrong??????????? I know i forgot to eat my salad yesterday but that shouldnt have made me gain weight???

    Maybe i'm not eatting enough??? thats about 1300-1400 cal ... is that enough??? How much am i supposed to be eating??

      Where are you calculating - I calculated what you posted, reasonably accurately I think, and it came in under 1000 calories.

        hmmmm .. i went on line and looked up each item .... obviously not accurate....


        i think maybe thats what it is .. i need to eat more so my body has fuel to burn fat

          Hello,

          I am on my third week of atkins and I had lost a total of 12.2lbs as of 10/15/07. I took it upon myself to get on the scale this morning and I have gained 2lbs. Is this normal? I have been eating baked porked chop, stemmed cabbage in butter, stemmed broccoli in butter, mixed broccoli and cauliflower in butter(a cup at a time on all vegetables),pork skins,sugar free jello, cheese, and my meats. What am I doing wrong?

          I also have a couple of questions:

          1. Are we allowed to eat sugar free gum, if so how much?
          2. Is it possible to just see inches lost instead of weight loss with Atkins?

              Make sure you are eating enough food. It sounds backwards, but if you don't eat enough your body goes into starvation mode and you won't lose weight.

              I recommend that you take your measurements and follow them more than the scale. The scale can go up and down a few pounds throughout the day because it isn't only weighing fat, but everything (water, salt, muscle). You are going to get a better understanding of your progress by measurements.

              Sugar free gum affects people differently. I can have a piece in the morning and one in the afternoon without any problem; however, for some people the sugar alcohols cause problems and it stalls their losses.

              Finally, I recommend setting up a free account at fitday.com and enter in everything you eat. It's amazing to see what really goes in to our bodies versus what we think has been going in.
