  • please look at my induction menu

    Hi,
I'm new to this board but not to Atkins. This is my second time around. I lost about 30 lbs the first time I did Atkins, but seemed to have gained it all back by eating lots of sugary carby food and not weighing myself. Though I don't feel that I look the same way I did the last time I was at this weight. Go figure. My jeans are somewhat tight but I haven't had to get a bigger size yet. So anyway, I restarted induction on Saturday. This was what I ate yesterday. Please tell me what you think.
Brunch: Baked eggs with half a slice of pepper jack, a tbsp of parmesan and 2 tbsp cream
Dinner: Feta and tomato burgers: 1 oz feta, 1/8 cup tomato, lots of herbs, 1 green onion, 1/4 cup spinach
served with Dill cucumber sauce: 1/8 cup cucumber, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1/2 tbsp fresh dill, 1 tsp fresh mint, 1 clove garlic, 1 tsp lemon juice
Snacks and beverages: a teeny weeny piece of no bake jello cheesecake -- maybe a couple tbsp, hot sugar free cider drink, with a tbsp whipped cream with Splenda
Diet soda (not strictly allowed I know, but I have never restricted it and always lost while drinking it)
Looking at this I may have overdone the cream a bit. I had terrible cravings at night so tell me if you think there's anything in the meals that could have set that off.
    Thanks!

PS I already seem to have lost about 3 lbs, probably all water weight.

Be careful with the cheese. In one day the pepper jack, parmesean and feta may be too much for you. Some of us have to be extra careful with the cheese. Also, I agree with your assessment about the cream ... between the 2 tbsp of cream and the sour cream and whipped cream, you may have had too much. No bake Jello Cheesecake regardless of how teeny-weeny is a NO! Cider is made from apples and apples aren't on the Acceptable foods for Induction.

Personally, I used to drink lots of Diet Coke ... when I realized cravings continued I cut it out and replaced it with water. Amazingly the cravings went away.

Do you not choose to eat any beef, chicken or pork? Cravings will usually be diminished if you are satiated. Your menu wouldn't do it for me. Perhaps some protein besides eggs for brekkie is something you need.

      Best wishes!

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

You're probably right about the cream and cheese.
I had diet soda today again but far less cream and cheese and I'm currently craving-less so that was probably it.
Is sugar-free jello cheesecake really not allowed on induction? I specifically chose a recipe that said ok for induction and it only had cream cheese, sugar free jello powder, heavy cream and liquid Splenda.
The cider drink was a sugar free mix -- doesn't actually contain any apple juice, just flavoring. Does a remarkably good job of tasting like cider though.
I did have beef in the burgers, about half a pound, forgot to mention that

        Thanks for the input!
