  • todays food......

todat, this morning, i fried some green peppers and onions in a pan w/some butter. then i cut up four sausage links......heated all this stuff together in the frying pan.....melted a little cheddar cheese afterward and that was my breakfast.

for lunch just 4 peices of celery....i couldnt believe it myself, but it held me over.

when i came home this evening i had two small peices of lamb, cut up small....and with a little ricotta cheese. then about an hour later, 4 more peices of celery but this time with cream cheese.........

    that was it

please comment on todays food selection, i wanna know whatcha think!!!

What phase are you in? Sausage can be ok, but it really depends on the type. Most are processed and they can have sugar and fillers in them. I go to a butcher myself and the only thing in them are cayene pepper, garlic, etc.. but no sugar, no sweetners, no wheat fillers etc.. How much peppers and onions did you have?

Overall, looks pretty good, but hard to tell with a little more measurements and again what phase.

    Good luck

I agree with not getting on the scale to often, especially early on, I try to just weigh once a week (same day of the week and circumstances). I wouldn't worry about weighing for instance steak, or chicken. However, during induction, I would measure the food items that have carbs in them. Not mention it is important to get in your 2-3 cups of allowed veggies a day. Also with cheese you are allowed 3-4oz a day. I am not sure if Ricotta is allowed or not (it maybe considered a soft cheese and not allowed until Rung 2 of OWL, I don't really care for it, so I don't know for sure)

Overall, I would guess that yesterday's food would probably keep you in ketosis. However, it is easy to overlook hidden carbs in processed food.

I would definetly have a look at the book, it's a great resource and the chapter on induction is pretty quick.

        Good Luck

          - It's HARD to find sausage with no fillers or sugar... are you sure there wasn't an ingredient list on it? I was just looking at Manda brand sausage yesterday for my family to Bar-B-Q, and there was corn syryp solids in it - yuck!

          - Doesn't look like enough veggies from the Salad Veggie list... should be at least 2 cups. Hard to tell, though, without measurements.

          - And Bluebelt is correct... ricotta cheese is not allowed until Rung 2.

Personally, I have found that the more veggies I eat, the better I lose weight.

Keep posting and asking questions! Best of luck to you.

And please make sure you eat enough. You haven't listed your height, weight, age, or sex. Those things can help us give you better advice as well. It really seems like you might be in danger of not getting enough food though. You definitely should not be starving yourself on this way of eating. As the others said as well, you need more veggies from the salad list. Keep us posted!!
