Help!!! I am stuck at 221lbs???

  • Help!!! I am stuck at 221lbs???

    Please Help me figure out what i am doing wrong...i have been 221lbs since last Friday, i have been exercising 5 days a week for about 45 minutes i speed walk/run 2 miles around the track...i do slim in six (just started yesterday) and i run/speed walk on the treadmill on the days i cannot make it to the track i know that i am working out more than enough so it has to be my diet please review the sample menu below and advise me on how to fix it so that i can bust through this plateau...TIA!!!

    Breakfast: two pieces pork sausage, 2 scrambled eggs (sometimes i add 1oz of cheddar cheese) 2 cups of coffee with 3 splenda and heavy cream

    Lunch: can of tuna with 2 boiled eggs and mayo (seasoned with salt & pepper)

    Dinner: 2 cups of broccoli, Chicken breast cooked in olive oil (seasoned with salt & pepper and garlic)

    Dessert: 1/2 cup 100% pure pumpkin, 1 tbsp butter, 3 splenda packets, 2 tbsp heavy cream (cinnamon & nutmeg to taste) (about 6 g carb because i use 3 splenda packs instead of 1)

    I try my best to drink at least 64oz of water a day but i do not always make it

    since last friday and your stressing???

    Ive been at my same weight for 8 weeks! LOL

    muscles building, hormones, water intake, sodium.... could be any

    Your menu looks fine!


    Weigh once a week, you dont need to stress the scale....

    Have you been taking measurements? theyre much more fun than the scales!!

    A plateau is not a plateau until its been 4 weeks.

    You NEED to drink your water, NEED, this is not optional!

      Hi Goodbyebabyw8 (cool name by the way, very explanatory),

      Emma is right don't fret about a stall too soon. Everyone has these occasionally. I understand it is annoying though.

      Reviewing your menu I would say:
      - check the sausages for hidden carbs like breadcrumbs or sugar
      - I know I would stall if I ate that much splenda and coffee - think about cutting it out or at least cutting back. I got into bad habits of haveing desserts everyday and even though i used very little splenda it wreaked havoc and caused cravings.
      - Are you on induction? If so 2x cups broccoli and 1 cup pumpkin is a bit heavy on the carbs. When on induction I found it work better to have 1 - 1 1/2 cups heavy veg, like broccoli and 2 of lighter salad types veggies, like cucumber, lettuce, spinach, arugula etc.
      - I'd spread the veggies throughout the day a bit more to avoid the carb hit of 2x cups broccoli in one go. Mushrooms or tomatos with breakfast works well, salad or soup for lunch is good.
      - You may be eating too much protein. I'm not sure on this but tuna, 4x eggs and chicken breast might be a little much. Perhaps have 1 egg with lunch?
      - To check all this out for sure do you have a fitday account? Getting your fat, protein and carb percentages right helps a lot of people get a good balance.
      - Try and get the water in, it's hard but it makes a crazy difference!

        Hey there! Everyone's already spot on. Watch the sausage and watch the spenda. You might even try ditching the coffee (eeks!)

        It's not abnormal to go through a stagen of staying the same or even gaining a little from time to time. Your body needs adjustment periods. I went for a week or two sometimes with no change and then all of a sudden one day I'd drop like 5lbs. It's weird, but our bodies know what they're doing. Just keep doing what you're doing (well, with those small modifications) and things will take care of themselves. Keep up the exercise and get your water in!!

          Where's your salad? If you're on induction, 2 cups of salad vegetables, and only 1 cup of other vegetables is allowed, or 3 cups salad veggies. You might try just eggs, without the sausage, on some days for breakfast. In other words, don't eat it every day, and if so, try to find some without added sugar.

          Your exercise and water is great.... you just need to tweek your menu a little. Try eating some veggies in the morning with breakfast. I've found they've helped keep my hunger down for the rest of the day. Good luck.

              Goodbyebabyw8- I just went thru the same thing last week. I did not lose anything for 9 days. I posted that and received some really good info.
              They told me to cut back on the splenda stuff and not to eat the sweet potato once a week. It worked, because within 2 days, I was down 3 more lbs. Maybe the pumpkin was too high in carbs at this point in your diet too.
              I know it can be so frustrating becuase the littlest thing you eat ( and you think it is okay) will do that to you. Keep up the good work!

                Try cutting out the spenda (6 packs a day is a lot) and heavy cream. I did and lost 4 pounds in the past 10 days. Also, I know it's hard but be patient. The weight didn't go on over night and it won't come off over night either.
