  • My typical menu for the last couple days.. so why??

    Hello .. I have posted below my menu for the last couple of days ...

    Friday
    b-2 eggs
    l-double quarter pounder plain no bun dipped in mayo
    s-tuna salad.. lettuce, cucumbers, green peppers, and tomatoes

    Saturday
    b-2 eggs
    l-tuna mixed with mayo on romaine lettuce
    s-steak, with onions, mushrooms and cheese side caesar

    Sunday
    b-2 eggs with 2 mushrooms, and small amount of grated cheese
    l-cheese string
    d-mashed califlouwer and chicken

    100 to 140 oz of water daily... so why is the scale not moving more quickly!! I assume my menu is ok... I also do a 45 minuted brisk walk 3 to 4 times a week.

    My menu does not very much from the above.. except dinner.. it is always meat with a veggie..

    Am i possibley doing something wrong??? Thanks for the input!!

    Hey there,...your menu looks good minus the veggies. Where is you 1 cup of veggies? Also remember you can have 2 cups of lettuce also. Make sure to get your veggies in. Keep up the good work.

      When you say double quarter pounder...is that pre-made? It may have hidden carbs. Shredded cheese, don't know if you're using it, has some sort of starch in it. Did you make sure the ceasar dressing is sugar-free?
      Kassoria makes a good point, make sure you're getting all three cups of veggies. You can have two cups from the first list and one cup from the "other."
      What stage of atkins are you on? If you're on extended induction that may be why your weightloss has slowed down. Try going onto OWL.
      According to your siggy you started Nov 19th, so your induction period concludes today/tomorrow. You're also trying to lose around 60lbs...that means you've successfully lost the 5-10% that Dr. A predicted.
      You're doing a good job Keep doing what you're doing and consider moving onto OWL. Remember that exercise can make you retain water and or build muscle. There will be times when you'll wake up, weigh yourself and see that the wooshie fairy has paid you a visit. Anyway, keep working hard

        I'll ditto what Hoping said. You're doing fine. Maybe consider an early move to OWL... for some, weight loss speeds up in OWL, particularly rung one, and you can stay there quite some time, if you wish.

          You might not be eating enough. It's hard to tell without seeing the quantities of the foods you're eating really, but make sure you're not depriving yourself. Eat when you're hungry and eat until satisfied. If you don't eat enough it can cause your body to hang onto fat as well.

            Thanks for all the feed back!!!

            Hoping.. I grate the cheese myself from full fat hard cheddar.. very little at that.. I don't buy anything processed..

            I guess I have to up my veggies.. and keep plugging away!!!

              You've lost 6lbs in 2 weeks. That's pretty darn good! Weight loss is not linear...you will experience some ups and downs and the fact that you're a woman, no matter how unfair it is, also plays a role in this. Women certainly lose weight more slowly than men. In your first 2 weeks of induction, you should lose 5-10% of the amount you want to lose. Looks like that's exactly what you did! Good job!

                HIGGIES--thank you for the reply!!!! Why is it I lost 6lbs.. then I have been up ever since? I have not come back down at all!! this morning I weighed 219... yesterday... 220... I have not been back to the 216 I was a week ago..after the 1st week of induction. I just don't get it.. ( I know I'm whining!!! LOL)

                  it just happens for us women i'm afraid... i really dont think you're eating enough either....

                  are you logging your foods in fitday? how many calories are you eating? whats your BMR?

                    You should be eating between 1700 and 1900 calories a day pretty much. That's a good amount of food. Don't worry about counting calories during induction or anything, but keep it in the back of your head that you can certainly eat!!

                      Hi Emma--- No I am not using Fitday.. I started to.. haven't followed through... I wondered if I wasn't eating enough as well.... today I have had

                      b-mashed califlouwer
                      l-tuna with mayo, romaine lettuce, grated cheese and caesar dressing..

                      I buy my salad's pre made at a local grocery store... I have no idea how much is in them.. the container says 225g but I remove the cherry tomatoes and all the carrots.. so what is left would be less than 225 if that helps any!!!

                        why d'ya remove the tomatoes?
                        Have you moved to OWL yet? that could give you a boost, more veggies!

                          Hi Emma.. thanks for the help!!!

                          I removed them only because I don't like them!!! LOL I eat regular sliced but not cherry or grape tomatoes!!!

                          So if that is almost a cup before removing the weight I do.. I am not eating enough veggies.. I eat that same size salad daily.. then with my meat at dinner I have side veggies or salad.. just a little..

                          I just introduced califlouwer.. I hadn't eaten it on induction.... so I am going to increase my intake .. especially veggies and see... maybe if I had a snack after dinner.. or mid afternoon .. celery or something.. that might help!!!

                            Fair enough on the tomatoes, lol, was just wondering!

                            Nope its not enough! celery with something fatty, cream cheese maybe?

                            5net carbs of veggies you should be increasing by, dont scrimp on veggies, theyre good for you
