  • Help with menu please!

I'm new to this, and I'm like some opinions on whether or not I'm going about this the right way. Any help would be appreciated!

    Breakfast:
3 sausage patties topped with 1 oz. cream cheese and 1 tablespoon of salsa, 2 scrambled eggs topped with pepper and no-salt.

    Lunch:
8 pieces of roast beef wrapped around 2 oz. of cheese and dipped in mustard, handful of pork rinds, 3 dill pickels.

    Mid-day meal:
Can of tuna with a tablespoon of mayo mixed in.

    Dinner:
Salad topped with green peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomato, mushrooms, black olives, half an ounce of cheese, real bacon crumbles, turkey, and 3 tablespoons of ranch dressing.

    Total carbs: 22

Do I need more veggies? Because I'm having trouble adding more veggies throughout the day without adding carbs, and I'm really having trouble going below 20 carbs. I can stay under 25 with no problem, but in order to get the 3 cups of veggies I need, I seem to be going over by a carb or two each day.
The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast:
the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'.

Your menu looks good although you may need to watch the cheese. Are you subtracting the fiber from your carb count in your vegis?

I think your menu looks great ......... when you are good into ketosis and don't feel quite so hungry you might cut back to 2 sausages and 1/2 ounce of cream cheese in the morning and that might make your few carbs disappear ....... but really it looks good.

        Thanks for the advice!

I do count the fiber, and I think I can cut back on some cheese. I don't really need it in the salad, I have so much other stuff in there that I don't really notice it.

I don't know how you are counting the veg carbs, but I had the greatest of trouble getting the 3 cups of veg to add up to 12-14 carbs daily. When you say you are counting the fibre, are you counting it as carb? Because you shouldn't - it's 20 net carbs a day on induction, which is the total carbs minus the fibre carbs.

The other thing I would suggest is spreading your carbs (ie veggies) out over the day - try to have some with each meal. All of them at once can cause some cravings and isn't the best way to approach it.

For example you could have half a cup of mushroom with breakfast, or have a broccoli crustless quiche (again with hald a cup of broccoli) for a change. Have a green salad with lunch and you still have enough carbs left to have a decent amount of veg at dinner.

Thanks Kate! I started breaking up my veggies today, I made an omlett with chopped onions, green peppers, and mushrooms for breakfast, and I think I'll have some more veggies with lunch.

That omelette sounds yummy!! Maybe it's time I had omelettes more often!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

It was really good! I made the same today, but just scrambled it all up and skipped the cheese, because I'm having taco salad (no shell) tonight, and I wanted to save my cheese ounces.
