  • My Menu for 1/5

I woke up late and so I didn't end up having time to make my own appetizers for the party. I knew they would have tonz of food there so I went out to eat before hand. I didn't eat very much because I woke up and was running like a crazy women all day so 6pm was my first meal (not a normal habit for me). I went to Ruby Tuesdays in Plymouth. They had gotten rid of their eating fit menu :-( I guess it was because they were trying a new menu out along with 4 other Ruby Tuesdays (not sure which ones). He told me that most of the food in this one section on their trial menu could easily be turned into an atkins meal but I could tell that he really didn't know what was involved. Unfortunitally I had to educate him because there was noway I was going to mess everything up just because I was worried about being annoying!!! I ordered Salmon with crab meat on top and replaced their normal lemon butter sauce with a plain old drawn butter and they brought me a lemon wedge (so I made my own), then they didn't offer the mashed cauliflower anymore so I got broccoli and a salad bar (I had originally ordered a Caesar salad but I made him check and there was sugar in the dressing along with sugar in the ingredients for the lemon butter sauce). I had the BEST SALAD BAR THOUGH! I put lettuce, shredded cheese, mushrooms, black olives, cucumbers, and blue cheese dressing on top of all of that.

I have been so worried ever since I ate there even though I was so careful. I work in food the industry and I know how often the cooks make mistakes and a lot of them really don't care about your diet!) Next time I go there I am getting only the salad bar and then bringing my own blue cheese dressing just incase. This way I have more control.

At the party my mother inlaw had made avecado dip and she told me exactly what was in it and everything was Atkins friendly so I had a small scoop of that and then had about 4 jalapeno stuffed green olives and about 5 black olives.

Thank you for looking at my menu for Saturday! Here is my plan for today (Sunday):

A Caesar Salad at my work with chicken on it
    Deviled eggs (12 halves)
    Taco Salad:
    1 pound hamburger
    Hot sauce
    chili powder
    salt
    season salt
    2 cups of lettuce
    half cup shredded cheese
2 table spoons sour cream (I think that is one ounce?)

I need to work on drinking more I am going to go and fill up a pitcher right now so that I can see where I am at with it today. I hope this will help motivate me to drink more and more often.

Thank you for looking at my menu and for your advice!

I make my delived eggs as simple as possible and I like them that way it it works for me. I just mush the yellows with mayo and then put it back into the egg and then if anyone else is going to see them I sprinkle on some paprika. I don't add garlic to mine or onion but I know that a lot of other people do.

          Lisa Marie,

I am no expert here but I would strongly suggest you get on fitday.com and put your menu in there. Chicken, 6 eggs and a pound of ground beef sounds a bit high in protein and according to the book if you eat too much protein it is converted to carbs by your body which may affect your losses.

The fitday thing is easy and free. It gives you your carb/protein/fat count and percentages automatically which should be about 35% protein, 65% fat and 5% carb on induction. Using this tool has been VERY helpful to me personally to stay on track. You can even "plan" a menu in advance and tweak it a little bit to make things come out right.

          Good luck to you!

            Good suggestion, Pamela
The other advantage is that you can easily make your fitday 'journal' public by clicking on the button right at the bottom of the 'home' tab page and post the link to it here so others can see exactly what you are logging and advise without you having to post it all over again here.

BTw only the food entries are visible to others, not the more personal stuff there.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
