  • Alright, lets try this again - please review!

Hello. I am in Day 5 of Induction and this has pretty much been my menu.

Breakfast: Pumpkin recipe. 100% pure pumpkin with cream cheese, cinnamon, and splenda.

TOTAL: It has 9g total carbs, 5g fiber, 4g sugar - but I heard that the 4g of sugar don't count because it is natural. Is that correct?

    If so: 3g
    If not: 7g

Lunch: Big Salad with chicken breast chopped up into it, and also a chopped up boiled egg with ranch salad dressing (1g). One cheese stick (1g). One pickle (2g) -OR- Just the chicken breast, with ranch on the side to dip, 1-2 hard boiled eggs, cheese stick, pickle.

    TOTAL: 7-9g

Dinner: Sirloin steak with broccoli and cheese ... or sometimes we take crumbled hamburger meat, add a little 1/2, toss in some cheese and it comes out like a hamburger helper meal but without the pasta. Mmm. Good! Broccoli or Cauliflower on the side.

    Total: 4-5g (?? - not sure)

Snacks: Pickle(2g) or Cheese stick(1g), tuna with mayo(1-2g)

    Opinions please!

It looks a tasty varied menu

The natural sugar carbs in the pumpkin do count as net carbs - you only deduct the fiber.

Remember that pumpkin, broccolli & cauliflower are all on the one-cup list, so you can have either half a cup of two of them or one cup of one of them only as well as your 2 cups of salad veggies.

I am not sure what 1/2 is - if you mean half and half, that contains half milk and half cream so strictly speaking is not induction-legal so you could use plain cream thinned down with water instead.

Also make sure you stick to the 3-4 ounces of cheese per day.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Sounds good! Yeah, I don't think I go over 3-4 ounces of cheese. I eat, at the most, 2 cheese sticks a day. Yeah I meant half and half, but the plain cream thinned down, is a good idea -thanks!

Everything else is good though, right?

            Nice menu!

Actually, I like the cream thinned down with water better than milk now.
