    Re: Please check for me

Looks pretty good to me Karen.

Might be over doing it a little with the mushrroms (depending on how many / much you had in your omlette). But aside to that, looks good.

    Keep it up.

      Thanks Richt

I had 2 mushroom with breakfast,2 with lucnh and plan on having one with dinner.

My problem is I don't know how many carbs I am taking in per day

Could the mushrooms be causing the bloatedness? I felt good yesterday , not tired and stomach felt flat (ish!) Today is so different

      Thankyou

I wouldnt have thought the mushrooms would cause you to bloat. But different things do effect different people in different ways.

Hopefully other people can chip in below with suggestions.

it looks ok, but if i was you i'd buy the book and a i have a good PDF file with Veggie Carb counts that i can send you....i hope the below helps a little....u can count the rest like this.

            3 rashers bacon - back = 0.9 carbs
            3 rashers bacon - streaky = 0.1 carbs

            1 whole egg = 0.6 carbs

            1 small tom = 3.2 carbs

            55g of portabello mushrooms = 1.0
1/2 splenda and a small amount of double cream - count as 1.5 carbs

              Hi Janet

Thankyou for replying. I have the new diet revolution but the scale is in cups? So i was a grey on the carbs. I know to stay under 20 for the induction. The pdf doc would be fab if you don't mind?

                      Re: Please check for me

There are a couple of things you might want to check on there.

Bear in mind that I am sort of guessing portions here, but these are things that strike me.

                      1. Have you checked your salami and bacon for added sugars?

                      2. Are you eating enough veg? Unless your caesar salad is gigantic, there isn't enough in there, and what there is mostly mushrooms. You need to eat better veg I think.

                      3. Are you eating enough?. I ran this through Fitday, and it looks like you are eating less than 1000 calories, which is very low

                      4. Are you eating enough fat? I'm not seeing it - but then you may be adding good amounts of fat in your cooking, and oily dressing on your salad.

                        Hi kate58

I hadn't checked the bacon and salami but i just did and they do have added glucose syrup plus lactose (in meat??). This shows as 1.0g carb/sugar per 100g and I have eaten about 20g salami and 50g bacon today. I'm not happy to have discovered this as an afterthought, silly me for thinking that meat was just protien and fat!

So I will check the packaging carefully while i am shopping tonight, thankyou for the heads up.

As for the veg, I don't eat cooked vegetables apart from spinach and pak choi and mange tout - none of which i have had since starting this plan. I usually have a salad for lunch or dinner but this as you guessed correctly is not huge. I pland to add peppers and onions tonight to plump it out a bit.

I cook with butter or olive oil but this morning i grilled the bacon as I had run out of both!

I haven't really been snacking to be honest, although monday i had a small sugar free jelly but i was told not to do this afterwards.

                        Sorry for the long post

I know, it's bizarre - but you'll find that almost all processed meats have added sugar. I often wonder do the makers stand around going "What the ****, let's just chuck in a little sugar". Why????? Would they sprinkle sugar on a steak??

Reading packages as carefully as I do now has been very enlightening, there are hidden sugars in the most surprising places. I've especially discovered that ANYTHING that brags on the pack about "No artificial additives" is FULL of sugar.

Try to have the odd snack, or slightly bigger meals. Eat something that combines fat and protein, like cheese or a little meat with mayo rather than sweet things. I know for sure that I find if I eat too little I do not lose - lot's of people have the same problem.

You are absolutely right, they are bonkers!! Its like a nanny state - keeping us all sweet

And of course you are correct wit me not eating enough, last night i was very hungry for the 1st time in the 6 days since beginning the diet. Plus i weighed myself this morning and i haven't lost a single ounce! Not very encouraging but i will keep persevering

Karen, try not to worry too much about the scales till you have done your first 14 days on induction. With 24 pounds in total to lose a 'normal' loss of between 5% and 10% would be between 1.2 and 2.4 pounds for you which if you lose gradually really wont show on the scales each day unless yours are very accurate.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
