    Re: Joy here, menu follows

I put the menu you gave for the first day into my fitday, and I got about 30 g of carbs.

Are you sure the bacon is "real" bacon and doesn't have any sugar or other stuff added? I have no clue what the "Super Pot Roast" is, but again - are you sure it doesn't have anything added?

We don't have Ken's Dressing here, but if it writes 0 carbs on it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's zero. It also writes 0 if it's below 1. Moreover, I don't know the ingredients of this dressing, but most dressings have some sugar added, so you might want to check this.

In any case, with 20 lbs to lose, you can't expect to lose at a very high rate. Just have some patience and the extra weight will come down.

BTW, why can't you figure it out how to use Fitday? Write your questions about this here and we might be able to help you.

      Thanks El,
Ken's dressing lists sugar 15 on the list and 17, 18 molasses and corn syrup.
0 carbs 0 fiber 0 sugars 2 tbs. 160. Others here on list use hellmans mayo, has sugar, I use that as well. They said not to worry about it. I guess I have to find my way as others who have gone before me have. Which dressing is totally sugar free? Which Mayo is sf? I am buying Dukes today. Would love to buy sausage haven't found sf yet. My bacon is sugar free, Kroger store brand.
You mentioned Super Pot Roast, I had everything spaced out in my post but it got changed when I sent it. You read super it is supper Pot roast, that is roast beef. It has no sugar. I use garlic powder, onion powder no salt and pepper.
About fitday, I have tried and spent hours and cannot get past egg, it takes so long, then you have to customize. It is so detailed but I get no where.
I am sure my dd could figure it out in minutes, I am not detailed on how to find the food then customize. I did accomplish egg. I am on fitday now to try for at least the 12th time. It is so frustrating.
In the food field I put in scrambled egg, has 36 choices, I chose w/cheese. It says 1 cup, I don't think each egg is one cup is it? I use butter not margarine, how do I distinguish on the site for butter? Before I just put in egg, today I tried by using scrambled egg. I had 2 eggs, how do I put that in?
Thanks for being easy with me, I would like to conquer fitday very much. I'd like to see how it is 30, my first week I was told I needed to eat more, I am now but I didn't know I added more carbs. I am sticking to the list the best I know how so that is why I want you and everyones help to figure it out.
Did you account for the fiber drink? It has 8 grams fiber. Anyways thanks for your help.
I did get scrambled egg with cheese it said 28 fat 6 carb 25 protein. Have no idea what 1 cup means, I had 2 eggs with 1 oz. of cheddar cheese, 1 Table. butter. It would be easy to just put that in just as I typed, but it doesn't work that way. I don't understand how to get 15 items in fitday, it would take hours.
      This is so long,
      Joy

Ok, I'll take it step by step...

About the sauce... You can prepare your own - totally "legal" - sauces using cheese cream, vinegar, butter, etc. There are a lot of receipes on Linda's website: http://genaw.com/lowcarb/recipes.html

Since I live in Germany (and, even worse, eat at the university's restaurant) I have no clue about any of those brands you mention.

        About FitDay now...

You can use a standard measuring cup to figure out how much you eat. Otherwise, if you are the one cooking, you can simply add the ingredients in FitDay (they are normally in there, so you don't have to customize them). In the case of scrambled eggs for example, you can choose (instead of choosing scrambled eggs) let's say: 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, 5 g (i.e. 1 pat) salted butter, etc. You can search for "egg raw" or "egg whole" and you'll find the eggs. In the 'Serving' field type 2 and from the field next to it choose the size of the eggs (if you can't approximate, just say medium). Then search for salt, then for butter and so on.

Also, if you are not sure how to measure some food, here's a post on the that explains it all: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=42407

Since only the net carbs count (i.e. total carbs minus fiber minus sugar alcohols), I assumed the fiber drink has no net carbs and I didn't add it.

Consider using Fitday PC version. I switched in November and find it a lot easier to use than the online version. It was the best $20 I ever spent.

Thanks Blue and thanks El. I'll check out the PC version of Fitday. El, the way you explained it made more sense than I was able to make on my own.
