  • Please check mine

    I could use some advice. I started induction on Monday and I'm only down 2 pounds. I honestly think it's becuase of the time of month for me but want to double check anyway.

    B: 2 eggs, 1 yolk, 1 sausage patty (I was having 2 whole eggs and 2 sausage but just changed today since there hasn't been much loss)

    S: 3 small beef sticks, sometimes a cheese stick

    L: Usually salad with buffalo chicken (i microwave boneless chicken and cover with hot sauce) mozzarella cheese, 2 tbsp ranch
    Today I need a change so I brought a chef salad with ranch

    S: pistachios

    D: some type of meat and veggies

    S: depending on what I'm in the mood for, I choose between: sugar free popsicle, pepperoni & cheese

    I've only been getting in 1/2 of my water, I know I need to up that.

    Any other suggestions?

    Definately increase water. I'm pretty sure you should not be eating nuts yet. Watch the beef sticks because they may be loaded with salt also causing water retention.

    I don't think your eggs and sausage were causing you any problems. Make sure your getting your fat intake........butter, olive oil.

      Oh wow, I should explain that I've followed south beach and curves low carb for the last couple of years and the pistacios were allowed.

      I will definitely up the water and make sure I'm getting my fats.

        Make sure you read the 2002 DANDR book and learn about OWL. You won't add nuts in until rung 3.

            I just can't understand what is going on, I'm just praying that this is because of my monthly. I am now up a pound from last week!! I have not had one cheat at all!!! The weekend looked like this:

            Saturday:

            B: 2 sausage, 1 hard boiled egg
            S: pepperoni, cheese
            D: brautwurst, brocolli & cauliflower w/cheese
            Sunday:

            we got up and were heading to our camp, didn't have time for breakfast, thought I would buy a pre made salad on the way. Well, the grocery store didn't have any so I got a bag of lettuce, bottle of ranch dressing & oscar meyer salad chicken. I nibbled at that all day. Then when we got home I made dinner: hamburger patty w/mustard & pickle, asparagus & cheese.

            I know I didn't get in my water but... what the heck???

              Mary, these two statements might easily be the explanation for a weight increase.
              Just carry on eating to plan and see how it goes.
              One reason I think Dr Atkins suggested not weighing till the 15th day is because the daily normal fluctuations can screw us up mentally. Better not to look at the scale at all till after your 14th day on induction.

                With regard to it being close to/around your 'time of the month', Dr Atkins said
                If you start Induction before or during a menstrual period, it may take longer for weight loss to register.

                    A lot of the meat you are eating is processed meat, which will have salt/additives that make you retain water. That combined with not drinking enough and TOM being around is probably the combination that is holding you back.
