  • Fitday's calories burned vs. eaten-is this accurate? Can someone look at this menu?

I am, getting frustrated with Fitday's calories burned vs. eaten.
Here is what I am eating today.

My ratio is 66/33/2% w 3186 calories. It is telling me I am eating more calories than I am burning. I have not lost any weight and this is my 11th day in. Could there be any truth to this? I have had alot of help tweaking my diet and feel my food choices are pretty accurate to the induction phase.

What am I doing wrong? I don't know how to reduce my calories without feeling hungry all time! I also feel that I am getting good veggies in: 1 cup mixed greens, 1/2 cup broccili, 1/2 cup jicama, 1 cup aspargus and it is telling me I am only getting 2% of my carbs. This is very frustrating.

Can someone look at this and tell me if I am doing this wrong?

    Thanks again!!

I think you *forgot* to enter how long you walked...it shows 1 minute...that will change your calories burned.

I am curious about the amount of chicken you eat. How many oz do you think you eat?

Re: Fitday's calories burned vs. eaten-is this accurate? Can someone look at this menu?

I was eating at least 1-2 chicken breast for lunch and dinner. I am not sure how many ounces that would be but they were medium sized. I am trying to cut back on the chicken and keep it to just 3 breasts a day. Today at lunch I measured out 4-5 oz chicken mixed with homemade mayo 1 cup mixed greens, 1/2 cup jicama, 1 string cheese mozz and 1 hard boiled egg. For dinner I am switching it up with a 5oz ground beef patty with 1 oz cheese and 1 cup asparagus. I have a late job and my husband is a bartender so I am up until at least 4am everynight. I get hungry every four hours(not just for a snack) when I eat so little meat. I eat a meal later on around 1am(I get up at 1pm for work). Due to how much chicken I was eating before I thought 2-3 breast per day would be alright. What do you think?

Please disregard the walking. I did walk almost 3 miles but that is very rare. I had a failed back surgery so my back only allows me to walk only on the weekends if I can handle it. I will fix it though but it is not a regular thing for me(though I desperatly wish it could be)!!!!

So how many breasts does a chicken have?
I am not kidding here. What I mean is that fitday may be counting the whole breast as one - while you may not. Try to enter the oz in instead - I really don't think you ARE eating as much chicken as you currently are entering in fitday.

It might be that FitDay's determination of your BMR or background activities is not accurate for you...you might want to check this...I know there are many calculators on the web to calculate this stuff...and you should be able to enter your own number into FitDay...I know that you can with the PC version...so I am assuming that you can with the website as well.

Here is one of the calculators I know of: BMR CALCULATOR

                I hope this helps...

Liv, you were right about the chicken!!! When I put in 10 oz it brought my calories down alot! It did bring my fat ratio to 70% so I played around with the numbers and made up a menu to stick to and brought it down to 66% fat with 32% protein and 2% carbs. I still am not sure why it says 2% carbs from all the veggies I am eating? But I am glad I am getting this right finally!!

I did use the BMR calculator and it was interesting. I could not plug it into Fitday but I changed around my lifestyle a bit. Thanks for all the help guys!!!
