I'm on day 4 of Induction and this is my menu for today:

    B - cheese omelet (2 eggs, 1 oz. cheese, 1/2 tb. butter)
    S - cheese sticks (3 oz.)
    L - steak
    D - hamburger (in a few hours)
    Total carb intake approx. 3

Yesterday I was feeling gross (withdrawals) with weakness, slight light headedness so to get rid of that I ate 2 extra oz. of cheese (1 carb total) and 100 cal. worth of plain almonds (1 carb). I felt better an hour later. Yesterday my total carb intake was 6.

BTW, is there a carb minimum? Is that why I feel so gross or is that just part of it? I had less carbs today and actually feel much better than yesterday. Maybe I'm past the withdrawals now.

I appreciate any input. Thank you

    Do you have the book?

Most of the carbs should come in the form of veggies. Can you fit some of those into your day? What is your water intake?

    Congrats on starting!!!

Thanks for the input. Yes, I read the book awhile ago but use it for reference now. Am I supposed to forgo cheese and replace that with veggies? What if I'm not hungry for veggies? After I eat my steak I'm just not hungry for anything else. I'm drinking 3-4 quarts of water a day. Plenty of that!

You can have up to 3 oz of cheese each day. Also, how about adding in some veggies into your omelette? How about just adding 1/2 cup of cauliflower to your dinner or cut up some cucumber to munch on during the day?

This is really a way of life towards eating healthier, whole foods. If you aren't used to it, start small and inch your way up!

Also, there is no carb minimum but the 20grams is there for a reason. You don't want to have to start you body from zero and work it's way up, start at 10-15 if you can't do all 20 and work your way up, when you get to higher rungs, your body will thank you for it!

Great ideas, thanks! I feel better now, too, that 10 carbs a day is OK after all. I'll add veggies and decrease cheese.

Maybe try to have 'some' veg with each meal/snack instead of eating just the meat? Perhaps even eat the veg part of the meal first to make sure you get those carbs and nutrients in and finish off with meat.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
