    Re: My meals

I think your menu looks pretty good. I see cheese a lot so just make sure you are staying within your 3-4 oz limit per day (that one is soooo hard for me!) I would switch your half and half and use heavy cream instead because half and half has milk in it, heavy cream is the best choice. I am not sure what sweetener pepsi one uses but if it is aspartame then its not allowed on Atkins. You can have a diet rite or diet coke that is sweetened with splenda (not all diet coke is sweetened with splenda though so check labels) Unfortunately that diet v-8 splash you are drinking is a no-no. The ingredients for the tropical flavor include: Water, carrot juice from concentrate, apple juice concentrate, pineapple juice concentrate, kiwi juice concentrate, lime juice concentrate, and then the rest of the ingredients, which contains less than 2% of: malic acid, natural flavor, mango puree concentrate, potassium citrate, vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene, Splenda, and acesulfame potassium

You are not allowed carrots or any of the other fruit juices listed. The label also says it has 3 carbs and 3 grams of sugar in each 8 oz serving. I would drop that juice immediately and drink more water instead. Great food choices though, you seem to be eating plenty of food so good job!

      Re: My meals

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. The Pepsi- One is actually sweetened with Splenda as well. I will lay off the V8 Splash. I forgot to mention that I add olive oil and Balsamic vinegar to my salad. How do you feel about sugar free jello and fat free cool whip? Is this ok ?

You have to get into the habit of really studying ingredient lists. On induction we have a list of what is allowed. Anything else is NOT allowed. It kind of makes it easy.

I would avoid sweeteners on induction. It is only 14 days and it really helps CLEAN you and help you deal with addictions. If you have to do them make them very limited and not more than 3 a day. But try without.

Balsamic vinegar is not allowed. Sugar fee jello contains aspartame - and we try to avoid that sweetener. Cool whip has all kind of crap in it - use CREAM - it rocks.

Yep Liv is right... jello is a controversial one and I see that a lot of people eat it, however it is sweetened with aspartame and does not contain ingredients on the acceptable food list. Cool whip is yucky, make your own whipped cream with a little splenda... its much tastier and 100% legal. Balsamis vinegar does have sugar in it so its not allowed... I use either white rice vinegar or red wine vinegar. Read labels, always! Thats the most important thing is to read labels and be aware of the ingrediants you are putting into your body. Have you read Atkins New Diet Revolution? We go by the 2002 edition on this board and it is mandatory that you read and understand it.
