  • How bad was I?

    So I have felt sluggish today, got up at 7 and took the kids to school, and got back in bed and didn't get up till 1PM. I did have a long day yesterday so maybe i am makiing up for it.

    I had ...
    1 1/2 ounces of bbq pork rinds before I went back to bed the first time.

    I just finished a turkey wrap. It was a flax seed wrap. 8 net carbs with low sodium turkey, 3 slices of cheese, mayo, mustard, 1/2 cup lettuce and a few pickles.
    That's not all....on the side I had a Very small sweet potato measured out after scooping it out of the skin to 1/2 cup packed. I put 1tsp butter, 1/2 package of slpenda and 1/2tsp cinnamon.

    Later tonight I plan on having 2 turkey burgers with 2 slices of cheese lettuce,pickle, mayo and mustard.
    Normally i would have some broccoli on ths side but not sure since I ate the sweet potato.
    I might not be able to eat anything else after my lunch

    Hello there,
    Check the ingrediants on the pork rinds and flax wraps. If they have added sugar in the them, they're a no no.

    What rung are you on? Reason I ask is because I count 5 slices of cheese. Assuming that they are 1 ounce servigs that's one ounce to much for Induction and just right for Rung 2 dairy.
    Flax wraps are allowed on Rung 3 seeds and nuts.
    Sweet potatoes are not allowed untill Rung 8 starchy vegetables.
    Are you getting all of your veggies in?
    You are allowed 2 cups of salad veggies and one cup of other veggies. Or just three cups of salad veggies on Induction. One more cup for Rung 1 veggies. Off of either salad or other veggie list.
    Remember not all veggies are created equal on carb counts and always include the fiber to get your net carb count. Important to have a carb counting book handy or go to www.fitday.com to plug in your food.
    Induction and Rung 1 Veggies allowed----

    SALAD VEGGIES LIST
    alfalfa sprouts, arugula, bok choy, celery, chicory, chives, cucumber, daikon, endive, escarole, fennel, jicama, lettuce,mache,mushrooms, parsley, peppers, radicchio, radishes, romaine sorrel

    OTHER VEGGIES LIST
    artichoke hearts, asparagus, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, beet greens, brocolli, brocolli rabe, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery root, chard, collard greens, dandelion greens, eggplant, heart of palm, kale, kohlrabi, leeks,okra,onion,pumpkin,rhubarb, sauerkraut,scallions, snow peas,speghetti squash,spinach,string or wax beans, summer squash, tomato,turnups, water chestnuts, zuchinni
    All this is in DANDR 2002
    Get the book and read it, so important!

      I am on Rung 1
      I guess i will only have 1 slice of cheese tonight for my turkey burgers. Won't taste as good, but my fault for having 3 slices on my wrap.

      On the Veggie list I only eat lettuce and Romaine. for the Other Veggie list I only eat Brocolli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Pumpkin, Sauerkraut, Spinach.

      I have been on this diet for 57 days or 8 weeks. I haven't lost anything but 3-5 lbs since the first week. Nothing since.
      And today is the first cheat day I have had, eating the low carb wrap and the sweet potato. I drink water like crazy and i work out. I just don't get it. My mind lately has been telling me to just get off this WOE.

        Are you measuring? I ask because I think I've become the poster child for it! I've lost "only" 13 pounds in two months - but I've gone from a size 16 to a size 12 in that time.

        Are you sure you're eating enough calories? It's something else I struggle with myself - I tend to undereat unless I'm really paying attention.

          Yes, I measured, still nothing there. I just went and picked up the book tonight at books a million, boy I hope I got the right one.

          It's the Dr. Atkins' New diet Revolution. written in 2002. The top says Completley updated. The MUST-Have new addition.

          There were 2 different books with the same name written in 2002.

            You've got the book, Yes that's the book we go by here. WHOOOHOOOO. good for you! That's fantastic news!
            I have no doubts that you'll be melting away soon. Work the plan 100% and you'll get 100% results. I have a feeling things are going to turn around for you now. Sorry if i've been a pest.
            I just can't stress enough how important it is to read the book. It's all I had in the first 3 1/2 years on Atkins before I found this place. All the answeres are in there.

                Now you can go down the list of possibilities we discussed on what may be halting your weighloss and look for the info in the book. Definately read the chapters I suggested aswell.
