  • A review please

Alright, I've been struggling staying on the wagon ever since Thanksgiving, the only plus is that I'm not gaining any weight back. I'm a 5'11,245 pound male,I'm pissed off and on a mission now.

    So how does this look

    Breakfast
    2 Jumbo eggs fried
    3 strips of bacon
    or
Mock danish using 1 egg ( Eggs make me wanna puke anymore)
    3 strips of bacon

    Lunch
    3 cups of lettuce
    1 0z of cheddar cheese
2 cups of diced fried chicken

    dinner
    2 hamburgers with mustard
1 0z of cheese grated on top

    snack
1 cup of egg salad (using Helmans, is this cool?)
2 strips of bacon cut up and placed in egg salad

It looks pretty good. I would add some more substantial veggies and spread them over all three meals if possible. How about some peppers or broccoli or spinach. Lettuce does not have much for nutrients that you need.
Also remember to drink Plenty of water.

And try to look up some more recipes with eggs - perhaps preparing them different ways may make you like them more. I like scrambles or omelets - because there are so many different things you can do with them

Well I used to only eat Broccoli and no lettuce. So I would eat 3-4 cups of Broccoli a day.

So I should eat 2 cups of lettuce and 1 cup of Broccoli?

I seriously need to find a way to liven up Eggs, I get the dry heaves just thinking of eating them.

If you add a teaspoon of heavy whipping cream to your eggs, it makes the BEST omelets. I do not have to use much cheese, and I load them with vegies. I know how you feel about the eggs. I actually cannot stand bacon anymore. Good luck and Happy New Year!

If you really cannot stand the sight of eggs - take a break from them. There are other things you can eat that will be great. How about smoked salmon? Tuna salad? There are some nice breakfast drinks you can make using eggs but with added flavours the eggs are not very prominent. I sometimes like to make egg drop soup with chicken broth - left over chicken (or turkey pieces) and dropping an egg in. Ginger for flavour and maybe some sesame oil and rice vinegar.

I suggest eating a variety of vegetables. You have a long list in DANDR use your imagination. Vegetables are something you will eat lost of the rest of your life. They are healthy, low in carbs and low glycemic. They are the perfect food so start experimenting with them.

I would agree that it's a good thing to spread veggies out through the day.

Mushrooms, onions, red peppers, green peppers, and tomatoes are great things to add to eggs.

How about a mushroom, swiss cheese, and sausage omelet? Another option is red and green peppers, taco meat, and sharp cheddar omelet. Then top it off with a little sour cream, salsa, and avocado. Yummy!

Are you eating just fried eggs? I have found those to be rough on my less tough stomach since starting the diet. You almost need a slice of *Item deleted from brain* to sop it up with.

I tend to go with the above posters idea of mixing some things up in an omelet (Will have to try the taco one sometime. Thanks) or an egg mess.

I like to saute any combination of the veggies she mentions with some ham or sausage then add scramble in some eggs with a bit of cheese.

It really helps break up the monotony of the breakfast routine.

Regarding the eggs: I make a breakfast scramble each day. Honestly, if you add veggies or meats or cheeses or spices - there are literally hundreds of combinations and flavors. I really never get sick of eggs because of that. I also occasionally make egg salad for breakfast.
