  • Hows my first day menu?

    Please review:

    Fried egg + 2 slices bacon

    Lunch: 1/2 tin Tuna and light salad (pepper and lettuce) with 1/2 oz stilton.

    And I'm still deciding about dinner! Any ideas??

    I have no idea if its a terrible menu or not so please tell me if it is!

    Happy first day. It is exciting.

    Breakfast looks good. I often eat some veggies with breakfast. Now not anyone can stand that but I like a bit of onion, mushrooms, snowpeas sautéed with my egg. Or a few slices cucumber and a small cherry tomato on the side.
    (Did you drink plenty of water and take your supplements too?)

    Lunch. 1/2 6 oz tin? Is a bit smallish. And a bit of mayo with it would be good to get the fat in. Do you use oil with your salad? I am not sure what "light salad" is. Plenty of water with it. And a walk if you have time.

      Yep, I'm with Liv on her comments.

      For dinner I would recommend chicken (I fry in butter or Foreman grill), nice with mayo and cheese (if some left in your induction allowance). Steak with tomatos is another nice dinner. Serve any meat with a cup of the denser veg like broccoli, zuchinni, string beans. cauliflower, etc.

        Just like Liv I noticed the 1/2 a can of tuna thing...
        When I have tuna for lunch I generally use a full tin and mix it with mayo and green onions... then I'll eat it with a salad that has a vinigarette dressing with 2 carbs/serving. So... lots of good fat.

        Lots of dinner options out there!
        Let me tell you about this "spread" I made for my pork chops this weekend!!
        PCs are a fave of mine, but I was having cravings this weekend and wanted something more to see me through the evening. So... I pulled out the cream cheese. What I did was cook the chops in a frying pan with the spices I like - then I took a few ounces of cream cheese and dropped it in a warm pan, along with heavy cream. I stirred the cheese, adding cream when needed until it was melted (it was still thick - like a spread or paste). The cream cheese picked up all the chop juices/fat and spices. Then I spread the cheese mixture on my chop. I can't begin to tell you how YUMMY it was!!!!

        My son came in later wanting dinner - I gave up my one left-over chop for him (darn! ) - he found it so yummy that he asked what I had done! Believe me, when my son asks about what's IN something that speaks success!!

          Thanks for all your comments!

          By light salad, i just meant small lol. Wasn't sure of how much to use. I was actually pretty full after lunch, without feeling all bloated which makes a change! I wasn't hungry enough for too much tuna but will try to have more.

          I'm so glad you said use mayo, I love the stuff so that'll definitely improve the salad.

          I'm going to try a chicken salad tomorrow, with similar breakfast.

            That wouldn't be close to enough food for me.... but then again, I am a 300 pound guy.
            I'm a father of twin daughters, whose main goal in life is to set a positive example for them.
