  • please give me any suggestions...

    breakfast: 1 whole egg plus 2 egg whites fried and 4 peices of turkey bacon

    snack: string cheese

    lunch: 4 to 6 ounces beef and 1 & 1/2 c green beans

    snack: 1 cup sugar free jello

    dinner: 4 - 6 ounces fish or chicken 1 & 1/2 c broccoli and a side salad plus 1 - 2 tablespoon ranch dressing


    **ok here is my question this is "about" what i eat every day changing up the meat and green veggies for variety but is this good enough or too good...just curious cause i have been on the atkins program since jan 7, 2009 and i have already lost 24 lbs....and I am not even a month in...dont get me wrong I am happy lol just curious if I am doing this right or not...do people usually use alot in the first month???

    Are you still on Induction? Or Rung 1?
    Your veggies look like Rung 1. On Induction we're allowed 2 cups of salad veggies off of the "salad veggie" list and 1 cup of veggies off of the "other veggie" list or just 3 cups of salad veggies. 3 cups of veggies is the limit on Induction. On Rung 1, it's just one more cup(5 gram net carbs) of veggies off of either veggie list, than what you're already getting on Induction.
    Do you have DANDR 2002?
    You're menu looks good. Your ratios for your food intake should be 65% Fat, 30% Protein, 5% Net Carbs.
    Do you use fitday.com to log in your food to see if you're getting in enough Fat, Protein and Net Carbs? It's a great tool.
    It's not uncommon to lose alot of weight the first month or months into your Atkins lifestyle, especially when you have alot to lose. I lost 18 pounds the first month.
    Great job! You're doing great! Congratulations on the 24 pounds gone forever!

      How great to hear that it is going so well for you.
      I liked your menu too. You may keeping it a bit on the lean side. Make sure you get some fat in here and there. I would probably do 2 eggs, rather than egg whites. And making sure you get some oil or butter with your veggies and fat with your chicken/fish.
