  • Please help.............x

    Hi its my 3rd week nto the atkins have lost a stone within the first 2 weeks and nothing this week... Plz review this.

    Breakfast Omollete
    Lunch Omlotette or maybe meat
    Dinner definatly meat-chicken grilled.
    water-2litres
    at cheese 4ounces.
    20g carbs from random foods...ie grapes, nuts, little bit of choclate...

    Im 13stones now i was 13 and a half.
    wud like to be 10stones.

    Congratulations for the weight lost!

    Random foods are not allowed on Atkins. Only foods from the list of foods acceptable in the phase/rung you are at. Are you doing extended induction or OWL? If you are doing extended induction, none of the random foods you listed (nuts, grapes, chocolate) are allowed. If you are in OWL, then you should slowly add foods back, based on the rung you are at... one food every week.

    No matter how you turn this around, if you are in your third week, most of the carbs you are eating should come from veggies acceptable during induction.

      i just cant give the random food up... But i will starting tomorrow just vegs.
      Im doing induction for a bit longer? would u recomend it??

        Okay, so you are in induction.

        What you have done until now is not really induction, so I think you should do a two-week long clean induction. You must give up those random foods. If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got. You need to retrain your eating and the results will definitely come!

        Do you have the book -- DANDR 2002? It is a very important read for anyone doing Atkins.

          So from tomorow im going to start my induction all over again and eatnothing but whats in the acceptable food list. But are my meals okay??

            The omelets, the cheese and the meat are okay. Add to them 3 cups of veggies (2 from the salad list and 1 from the "other veggies" list OR 3 from the salad list) and make sure you eat enough fat (you should aim for 65% fat, 5% carbs, 30% protein), and you should be fine.

            You should also make sure you are drinking enough water. Exercise and nutritional supplements are important, too.
