  • I love Veggies am I overthinking this?

    Hi,
    If someone would reveiw my journal just to make sure or give any hints that would be appreciated!
    I really think I eat too many veggies! It's hard for me to eat just a cup at dinner. Salads are ok, but not a favorite, I'd rather munch on veggies.
    When looking at my journal I put a 1/2 of a splenda in my coffee every morning and I use only olive oil to cook in.
    I drink at least 64 oz of water a day and do not drink soda.
    I'm not good at logging my food on the weekend, because I can never get near the computer (too busy)
    I've been cheat free since I started on Jan 19th and have lost 9 lbs (I just couldn't quit coffee, My day stars at 4 am..I need it!)
    I've been in a stall for 5 days and need a boost. Should I eat more, less, different?
    My start weight was 179..my current 170...and my goal is 140
    If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

    Actually it looks pretty darn good, your percentages are right on, you had 12 grams of carbs, and thats close to perfect.

      I thought it looked very good. Good work on the losing.

      There are a couple of things to think about
      *Today you overdid the vegetables that you are limited to one cup of - so you may have to watch that a bit
      *There are days where you do not eat enough. Make sure you get enough calories everyday.

      I am not sure what that cream is that you are using? It is like a drop or something?

        Hi Liv & Desertthorn,
        I use lite cream (Hood) but only 1 tbsp. It says it has less than 1 carb. I just need a little color in it. I hate it black, and it hasn't caused any cravings. Matter fact I haven't craved anything? The ketosis really works good for that.
        My strips have lightened somewhat....but from what I've read on here that seems pretty normal. As well as my slowdown in weightloss. Everyone seems to stall at week 3. So I'm just "trying" to be patient. God knows it took me 3 yrs to put on 30 lbs it's not going to come off in 3 weeks!

        Thanks for your input, I think I just needed to know I'm on it. I have a tendency to overthink things and sabotage myself.

          You can use heavy cream or whipping cream to lighten and it tastes deliciousand is perfectly legal. Anything that saids LITE should be avoided or at least check out the ingredients carefully. We have noticed that they generally pump up the flavor of "lite' with sugar.

            I have bought some heavy cream and still hadn't figured out what to use it in other than scrambled eggs. I'll try it in the coffee see how that goes.
            Today I'm easing up on the veggies, I'll save my portions for dinner. I put a few strips of red peppers in cream cheese and ham roll ups for breakfast though Mmmm Yummy.

              Better to spread your veggies across the day than to save them up for one meal, to avoid any blood sugar spikes from having them all at once.

              As you like veggies, why not move to OWL rung one now and add 5 net carbs more rather than try to limit them and stay on induction past your first 14 days?

              If you have lost 9 pounds already out of a total of 39 to lose you do not show much resistance to weightloss, so probably will not benefit from extending your induction.
              Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                Hi Elizellen,
                I was going to wait until the end of the month to move up, but I think you are right. I've been reading the book, because I thought I might be resistant but I fall in the normal range. I think a little change is in order!
                I love how this WOL gives you so many choices, most diets limit your food choices and get boring really fast.
                BTW, you have been a big inspiration! I have read quite a few of your posts. The change in your before and after picts are amazing!

                  At one time we use to pray that the Whooshie Fairy would come to visit. Thats a fairy who brings a big whoosh of weight loose in one day. If she ever came to visit, we would cage her and hang on to her, bribe her and pray to her and if we heard that she had visited someone else we would try to bribe them into sending her our way. She's a elusive little thing, she likes men more than ladies but if you can figure out how to lure her to your side, she is worth the weight

                    I am praying that you will deem me worthy of a visit. I have been a very good girl. I have drank my water faithfully, exercised and shunned all inappropriate food in this new WOL. But yet you haven't come to see me in over a week.
                    I don't want to sound whiney but I know you have been visiting my husband (I admit he is quite handsome) and he has thoroughly enjoyed meeting you. But I will sing your praises and buy you pretty things if only you will visit me too!
                    I have been looking at all the new spring catalogs and saving my money to get you a new wardrobe.
                    I promise not to try and cage you, I know how popular and busy you fairies are. A small amount of your time every once in a while is all I ask.
