  • Need help with my first meal...

Hey everyone. I'm starting induction on Monday. I need to get a list together so I can go to the grocery store. I need a little help with my menu. How does this sound for my first meal ? Am I eating enough vegetables ? Are the pepperoni slices and pork rinds okay for the snacks ?

    Day 1
Breakfast: 2 eggs 2 pieces of bacon
    Snack: Pepperoni Slices
Lunch: Pickles rolled in ham with cream cheese
    Snack: Pork Rinds
Dinner: Grilled steak, 1 cup mushrooms, 1 cup peppers, 1 cup olives (or substitute a side salad from Mcdonalds for the vegetables)

    Thanks for any help

It is looking pretty good. You are somewhat on the salty side with bacon, pepperoni, pickles and pork rinds. So I would think about that. Do not overdo the pepperoni. It is hard to find pepperoni without sugar (or dextrose) so shop for the one with the least carb.

You are limited from 10-20 olives. I assume those are the smaller kinds. A

If you eat salad at McD stay away from their salad dressing. Those are usually very carby.

Don't forget to drink plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of water.

Welcome, hope your trip to the store was interesting. The tricks are, just walk around perimeter as thats were all the good food is, the carbs seem to be in the middle.

        Thanks for the advice !

So I'd be better off replacing at least the pepperoni or the pork rinds if at all possible ?

I'm big on snacks. After school I'm starving and it's too early for dinner.

What are some better options ?

Maybe have some of your 3 cups of veg with a full fat dip or dressing with no sugar in the ingredients?

It is better to spread your veg across the day rather than to have them in one 'hit'.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
