    I use hidden valley ranch dressing. I use it as my main fat so I can justify using as much as I want I think if you post this in the main forum you will find that very few folks make their own dressings. And it's hard to find one without a tiny bit of sugar.

      What you can do too, is thin out the salad dressing by adding a neutral tasting oil. Most bottled dressings are very thick---like plaster---anyway. Adding oil will thin it out and not dilute the flavor.

      Also, you don't have to eat raw vegetables. All the vegetables on the "salad" list may be cooked for example mushrooms and bok choy are much better cooked than raw, imo. And for cooked veggies, I like to saute them in combo of butter and oil.

      Bacon is deceptive. If you cook bacon to the crispy stage, then you essentially cook out most of the fat. However, if you boil it or leave it limp and not crispy, you will be eating more of the fat. So it's not a good idea to rely on bacon as a source of fat.

        will it mess you up if your not getting all your vegies?

          getting in all your veggies is an important part of doing Atkins right. We are learning how to cut out all bad carbs but we are also learning to eat the good carbs. The way of staying successful - losing weight and keeping it off - will be to eat vegetables.

          Vegetables are quite wonderful and there are lots of things you can do with them. Right now I am eating meatballs with a bit of tomato sauce, cheese and plenty of spaghetti squash. It is really good stuff.

            This is only my personal opinion. I am 146 pounds. I would like to be 130. I too have always, always had trouble losing the weight after the first week on induction. I think we are really close to our goal weight, and it is just going to take a fine tooth comb on everything to get it off. I have not lost anything in a week, so I am hitting the water hard, and upping my veggies. I am also cutting out all the caffeine I can. I plan on having a great weigh in on my scale on Tuesday!! Head up, chin high!! You can go it. I am in it with ya sista!
