Looks good, but check the Ceasar Dressing ingredients. I can't remember but I don't think it's legal. Also, if your on induction your over your veggie limit of 3 cups. Otherwise it looks fine

Re: Opinions on my menu please

      Thanks for that.
I thought that the 3 cup limit did not apply anymore so long as you had between 12g and 15g of carbs from veg... With a total of no more than 20g for the day...

When I was trying to do the 3 cup limit I was having trouble making 12-15g of my carbs from veg and it was suggested (can't remember where) that so long as you don't go over this the 3 cup limit did not apply.

Will try to keep it under 3 cups from now on.

I am finished induction this Sunday and I am thinking about whether to go to OWL or stay on induction for another couple of weeks.

The first week I lost 2.6kg and this week I have lost nothing (but I am following the same plan I had for week 1). Looking forward to weigh in on Monday to see if I have acheived anything this week though.

      Thanks again

Re: Opinions on my menu please

Jodes, stick to induction until you start losing again. 2.6kg is an awesome start, and what happens is first we lose water, then the body starts to adjust to the diet and then we start to lose again about 2 pounds a week (or in my case .1 of a pound LOL) Your body is doing that adjustment thing so when you start losing then start up the OWL ladder where you can add first more veggies.
Go slow, increase in increments of 5gm of carbs and see how your body does on 20, and the new food group. Once your sure that food group works for you, go up another 5, add another group and see if you continue to lose.

Re: Opinions on my menu please

Well I really think it is going well now. I am doing an extended induction because I am just to scared to start adding more things in yet - I don't want to change it and gain weight.
There is a link to my fitday journal if anyone would like to have a look and see what I have been doing and give me your opinion.

I checked out my Ceasar dressing and it has less than 1g per 100ml - and as I only have about 20mls of it, I just count it as one.

I am feeling great and so far in less than 3 weeks I have lost 4.1kg or 9.02lbs...

The last couple of days look good, Jodes

I did notice that 50 grams of the salami has 3 carbs - did you check the ingredients list for no added sugar?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Opinions on my menu please

Hi Lizellen, yes I did and it also has no nitrates (It is a Hans product - none of their stuff seems to have added sugar or nitrates from what I can tell off the ingredients list).

I really think I am getting the hang of this but must confess that as much as I want to move to OWL, I don't feel confident enough yet to do so.

I have also been checking the ketostix everyday and I am for the last week there has been no trace of ketones there - not sure what is going on, that is why I wanted my menu checked again.

                Thanks
