  • Please look at my menu and give me some input

Hello, I have been in induction (again) for 1 week and I have been losing but I am curious to see if my average daily menu is correct. I have read the book, but I am not so good at following directions lol. So I am pretty sure I'm on the right track, but it seems from reading the posts that people follow the measurements pretty closely which I haven't been doing. I get up at about 5:30 and I make my breakfast and lunch at home but, I dont eat until i get to work at 8:00 (it's just easier with 2 kids) and then from there after I eat every 2 hours. I drink about 3 to 4 liters of water a day and take a multi vitamin and an enzyme that breaks down your fat, protein and carb intake. So here is my average daily menu:

8 am-Breakfast: 3 eggs and either 2 slices of ham or 2 pieces of bacon (sometimes only eggs)

10am-Snack: One stick of cheese with either turkey or ham wrapped around it

12-Lunch: Chicken Salad with Basalmic Vinegar and Oil dressing my salad usually has green peppers, cucumbers, green onions, and some times mushrooms. On occasion I will have left overs.

2pm-Snack: 4 pieces Celery with cream cheese

4pm-Snack: avacado/ cucumber with basalmic vinegar and oil

6pm- Dinner: either chicken, pork, steak with a salad, or broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce. I usually make one of the atkins induction dinners on atkins.com

My carbs usually stay around 15 to 18. My calories about 1400 to 1500

So do these things sound okay for induction?!?! i find that sometimes i stall for a couple days... and then i'll loose a lot adn then i stall...

    Any suggestions or Comments please!!
Thanks for everyone's help and MOTIVATION!

Your foods look fine, except the balsamic vinegar. Unless you have a super expensive balsamic vinegar, it most probably has some form of sugar in it.

You didn't write quantities for everything, so it's hard to say whether your veggies or ratios are correct. You should be eating 3 cups of veggies every day (2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of other veggies OR 3 cups of salad veggies), most of your carbs should come from vegetables and, at the end of the day, you should have eaten approximately 65% fat, 5% carbs and 30% protein. Cheese is limited to 3-4 oz and you can eat maximum 1/2 avocado.

Make sure the sauces you are using don't have sugar added to them. Always read the labels, even for stuff that normally should not have sugar (e.g. meat... yes, they sometimes add sugar to it).

Are your stats showing that you've lost fourteen pounds in one week? That's great. I'll have what you're having...

are you making your own cheese sauce? sometime that stuff has milk in it....

breakfast is VERY important. It jump starts you metabolism for the day. I use to never ever eat breakfast but its so very important so i do now.
