  • Not on induction

I've been on this diet since May 1 2008... well past induction but I have not veer much from it.

I lost 18 lbs from May 1 to Jan 1. Not one heck of a lot but I was happy to see the scale go down a tiny bit each week. I'm 65 and expect a slower loss rate.

Since Jan. 1 I have gained 9 lbs and have NOT strayed from the diet I have been on since the end of my induction. I'm really scared. What in the world is happening?

    My menu:

    Breakfast: 6:15 a.m.
Menu 1: 2 eggs and 4 slices of bacon or sausage
    Menu 2: 3 scrambled eggs

    Lunch: 11:00 a.m.

menu 1:1/4 cup of chicken salad made from canned chicken, onion and celery/mayo. 3/4 cup ricotta cheese with whipped cream (splenda)

menu 2: salad and 3/4 cup ricotta cheese with whipped cream (splenda)

    Supper: 5:00 pm

Menu: Meat of the day with allowable veggies or salad

If we go out to eat supper, I eat a dinner salad, or a breakfast supper, or
    meat with allowable veggies.

Bedtime: 3 tablespoons of whipped cream cheese with whipped cream.

    I am desperate here.

    I just gained 9 lbs.

    Re: Not on induction

How about buying the 2002 edition of the book. Read up on how to do induction and then do it. (I would not have any sweeteners those two weeks of induction) You would get into ketosis that way and get a fresh start.

Come down and join us at StallBusters Stallbusters United - Atkins Diet Barbee, we all seem to be in the same boat and can hold hands while we fight this battle.
It might be the dairy... I see that you are no longer doing induction, but I would back down to when you were losing and then skip the dairy rung

        Re: Not on induction

I never had sweeteners during induction and I was in ketosis.

My diet is the same now as it was after I finished the induction which was the 3rd week in May 2008. I did lose. I can verify the boredom of my diet. The only thing different is if I go out for chicken wings and antipasto... we started that recently. Although the wings are MILD (no hot sauce) the antipasto has a few chichi beans in it.

          Re: Not on induction

But you are putting on weight and probably not in ketosis now so you need to do something. I am thinking that you need to try the DANDR method. And that you need to start at the beginning and then gradually add stuff. Over the last new months you have posted saying - now I eat or drink this and I am not losing or I am putting on weight but you are not following the rules in DANDR - My suggestion is - why not try it?
