  • I think I posted in the wrong forum, so here it is again...

    Hi all,
I just started OWL (1st rung) on Monday and would like to know if I am not taking in enough calories or maybe not taking in the right type of foods. I'm 5'5" and started at 143, lost 3 lbs; I'm fairly sure it is water weight since I was on my TOM. I do exercise on a regular basis, even before starting this WOE. I go to the gym about 5x a week, usually running/cardio for 30 minutes in intervals either on the treadmill or cross-trainer (to reduce stress on my legs). Afterward I do ab exercises, pushups, as well as some reps on the machines (nothing like bench presses, just machines for arms & legs). Since I live in the city I walk a decent amount at a brisk pace.

I have posted my menu below:
FitDay Free Calorie Counter and Diet Journal:*Public Journal

I should also add, prior to this WOL I ate moderately healthy (was never overindulgent on processed foods), its just that I want to lose the weight I have slowly gained since my teens.

Thanks for any input, I'm on this forum religiously and am encouraged by what I read.

You are eating too little - need to increase your amounts somewhat. Good work on the fat content though. I did not look to me like you had upped your veggies like you should on OWL or am I reading that wrong?

Fats are a little tiny bit high and protein is a little tiny bit low. All the foods were a good choice, looks good to me

The thing with eating more is that I would tend to gain weight/feel more bloated if I ate larger than usual amounts. I think I'm just going to try to eat more protein (eggs & chicken are my mainstays since they’re quick to prep) to up the caloric intake, as well as find carb-y veggies. Probably also going to reduce the amount of butter I use for making eggs in the morning. Is regular vegetable oil suitable for rung 1 OWL? For some reason the brand I buy mentions soy bean as part of the ingredients…

        Thanks!

Sure, oil is fine in any form, Olive oil is better for you but I use a combination.

How is it going? Your numbers in fitday look good.

Well, over the holiday weekend I went to visit my parents and probably ate too much in general, there was a lot of protein as well as veggies (non-starchy though!) so I'm feeling kind of out of it. However, everything I ate was legal so I'm hoping in the next few days things should settle down some. I'm trying to eat more fiber using the flax cookie recipe. I use very little splenda (not even a full packet) since I think I have gotten the sweet tooth under control. I
