  • My Induction menus

    Good day

I have registered a while back but, as of this Monday, I had not started the program.
Here are a few facts about me: I’m 58 years old, height 5’5”, actual weight 130.7, my goal 120. I’ve gained this extra pounds with menopause and I am decided not to do with them anymore. I have been living in Spain for 12 years where I enjoy sailing; caring for my garden and on clear nights I enjoy watching the stars. However, I must admit that I am not an active person and that the exercise routine will be quite difficult for me.

    Here is my fist menu:

    20 th of April

Breakfast: 2 eggs and 1 cup lettuce
Lunch: cuttlefish, bacon, bacon-ets, 5 olives, butter and herbal tea
    Snack: Parma ham and tuna
Dinner: homemade turkey and ham soup

    Re: My Induction menus

You are missing some veggies. You should be eating 3 cups per day, either 3 from the "Salad Vegetables" list OR 2 from the "Salad Vegetables" list and one from the "Other Vegetables" list. The lists are here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html

Over half of the net carbs in your menu should come from vegetables.

There is a lot of protein there. Are you eating enough fat? Atkins is a high fat diet and Dr. Atkins wrote that excess protein will be converted into glucose. This is why the percentages you should aim for are 65% fat, 5% carbohydrates and 30% protein, where the percentages are computed from the total caloric intake.

Also check the ham for added sugars.

      Thank you Georgiana

The ham comes straight from the leg, therefore if there is add sugar it should be very little.
I’ll see to ad veggies and more fat.
      Hope I’ll do better today.

Yes I think that is looking better. Tuna and Sardines in oil are great and adding olive oil looks good. You're in Spain? Must be many great fresh veggies to add it - lettuce is not much for nutrition. The eggplant helped a bit. Keep working on it.
You are not eating a lot. Don't starve yourself. So counter productive. Make sure to eat to your BMR for sure.
And drink water - plenty of it.

            Thank you Liv

I'm sorry I didn't answer sooner, I had computer problems.
I'll keep on eating like in the 2nd post and on Monday I'll let you folks know the results.
