  • Please review my anti big booty menu!!!

So here's the dealio. I am starting Induction today, Thursday May 7, 2009 and am STOKED on it.

I want to post my meals that I am going to be eating and hopefully get your guys' expert opinion so you can help me fight the fat/cellulite/budonkadonk.

Right now I weigh 144 and my goal is 110. I was going to chop off a limb to lose the weight but I figured I'd try Atkins first

MMMMkkkkk before I ramble anymore I shall let ya'll know what my meals for today will be.

    Breakfast:
    5 whole eggs
    1C spinach
    1oz cheddar cheese

    Snack:
    2 hard boiled eggs

    Lunch:
    4oz pork tenderloin
    2 cups Romaine Lettuce
2 Tablespoons Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

    Snack:
2oz Brie (yummmmmmmmm AND is this type of cheese allowed?)

    Dinner:
8oz Filet Mignon cooked in ! Tablespoon Smart Balance spread

    Beverages:
1/2 gallon Rasberry flavored Crystal Light

Thank you guys so much for your help. Reading all your posts has been very helpful so please give me your advice as I want to lose this weight just as bad as you guys do!!!

Re: Please review my anti big booty menu!!!

Welcome. Glad you decided against the limb thing. LOL. Atkins is not half that bad
So do you mind telling us how tall you are?

Anyways your menu. It was not bad at all!!!

It is a good plan but don't plan too much. Let your body be your guide. Are you really going to be able to eat 5 eggs for breakfast?

Boiled eggs is a really perfect snack I think. But have it only if you need it.

Brie is allowed - just keep within limits

I do not care for Crystal Light. It has sweetener which you try to avoid or limit. I think it has aspartame - a sweetener Atkins tells us to avoid. It does not count as water. You still HAVE to get in all your water.

I worry about how much protein there is there. We try not go over 30% protein a day. Early on induction I would not worry too much about this but it is something to think about in the long run

Are you familiar with FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal It is a great website for keeping an eye on your percetages on Atkins. We aim for our daily calories to be make from about 65% fat, 5% carbs and 30 % protein

Girl, all those eggs your going to start cluckin
I hate water so I understand why your doing the Crystal light, BUT like liv said, its really way to much sweetener for this plan.. and according to the rules you need to still drink 8 oz of water. Slosh, slosh.
As you progress on induction, youll find your appetite goes away so make sure you continue to eat at least every 6 hours.

      Glad you found us

Lots of eggs in the am but your appetite should decrease soon. Sounds good though. Try to keep the artificial sweetner to a minimum...for example, as a reward, one glass a day and take little sip thoughout. It helped me kick the sugar cravings in the first week too.

I agree -- too much sweetner (you are allowed 3 packets per day) AND NO WATER.

Here is a portion from the book that explains the water:

Be sure to drink a minimum of eight eight-ounce glasses of water each day, including:
          Filtered water
          Mineral water
          Spring water
          Tap water

Additionally (after your 64 ounces daily), you can have the following:
Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
          Club soda
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content)
          Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs (may cause a stall)
Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons
*Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine. Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases.
