Not trying to hijack the thread but I just want to say thank you sooooooo much for posting this!!!! I had NO idea and just assumed my shredded cheese was safe! This whole time I have been eating about 3-4 oz of cheese with potato and corn starch in it.

Thank you for helping me to realize this! I bought a block of cheese tonight to grate myself

You say you barely use any fat -- you need to get enough fat in your daily meals - if you've read the book you'll know that is a big part of the program. I checked a package of fajita meat in my freezer earlier and remembered why I don't eat it (my husband does) -- it has sugars in it....that's probably why it tastes so good to you. There are many words for sugar....

Re: My Menu : Okay for Induction?

I get plenty of fat in my diet. Plenty. When I say I barely use any I mean that I barely use any of the butter with my eggs, I just use it for some flavor. I am getting between 80-100+ grams of fat every day. I know fat is a key point of Atkins, I've read the book, I just happen to not want to throw out a perfectly good tub of Smart Balance if the only thing I am using it for is a bit of flavor in the morning.

BTW: is there a way to figure out how much fat you should be getting on Atkins?

On induction, you should follow this ratio: 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs.

You guys are genius! Absolute Genius! I started eating more veggies, mostly brocolli, every day and my weight has started melting away again, just like the last time i did induction. I'm at 4lbs loss since I increased my veggies. Thank you so much!

                  Way to work it lady.
We often hear this about veggies. I think there is some magic in them.
