  • I need help, Is it still ok to go over?

    Ok, I'm on day 4 doing awesome and feeling awesome!! But as I'm tracking my calorie intake as well. I've noticed it's a little over 1500? Is that ok? Can I still lose if it's over? Am I doing it right? HELP!

    I'm on day 4 and I've lost a total of 5lbs YAY!

    yesterday's menu is

    2 scrambled eggs
    1 all natural beef hot dog (0g sugar) (0g Carb)
    1 cup of fresh mushrooms

    Lunch
    1.5 cups of Lettuce
    4 oz of Grilled Chicken
    1/3 cup of Feta cheese
    12 Large black olives
    2.5 tbs of Greek dressing (1g sugar) (2g of Carbs)

    Dinner
    I ate an Atkins Bar (my friend who's also on atkins told me I could have them is she right?
    I just wasnt that hungry

    Dessert
    Sugar Free Jello
    Whip Cream





    But this is what I've had today

    Breakfast
    4 pieces of bacon
    3 scrambled eggs

    Lunch
    2 cups of Lettuce
    12 Black olives
    1 boiled egg
    1/3 cup of Feta cheese
    2 tbsp of Greek dressing
    4 oz of grilled chicken

    Snack
    Atkins bar

    Dinner
    ?
    Should I not eat dinner?


    On those days I've had 4 glasses of water a day

    Please help me?

    LOL! My average daily intake is around 2600 calories and I'm losing at a fine pace.

    Others will be griping about Atkins bars and Jello-O, but otherwise I think your menu looks fine. Go ahead and enjoy dinner tonight. Eat until your satisfied (not stuffed) and don't sweat the calories.

      I'm not going to "gripe" but I will point out that the bars and the jello are not on the list of foods allowed for induction. They can be stallers for a lot of people.

      You may want to review the induction FAQs: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...tion-faqs.html

      The allowed foods list is there as well as the rules of induction.

      I do agree you don't need to watch the calories that closely.

        Ooops I just read that bulletin and Jello and the atkins bars are not allowed OOOPS ok Starting tomorrow I will avoid them. When am I able to have them? Thanks so much

          Did someone tell you to aim for 1500 calories? That's definitely not in the book - eat as much as you want...just stop when you're satisfied. My average is about 2000 cal/day.

          And you should definitely consider giving up the bars...

            Concentrate on the rules and on how you feel - eat till you are full (satisfied). Calories may get people off track at this point. They forget to eat meals (which is not good), they forget to eat fat (which is a must have) and they eat processed foods (may be lower in calories but full of chemicals and not legal stuff).

            So your menu is pretty good. Do eat proper meals. Do eat whole foods when you can. Do eat all your veggies - three cups.

              Thank you guys so much! But no, no one told me I have to eat 1500 calories, I just though it was bad to go over. But I guess it just depends on the diet.
