  • Menu check - save the pickle!

Would someone be kind enough to check this? My goal is to make sure I get pickles in here

    Breakfast:

    Coffee with cream
2 egg omelette with .5 oz cheese
    3 slices of bacon

    Lunch:

Boiled eggs and mayo (egg salad)
    1/2 cup lettuce
    Oil & vinegar dressing

    Dinner

    Steak
1 cup mushrooms (I was going to make these with onions but the carbs are scary)
    1 cup green beans

    Snacks:

    64oz water
    2.5 oz cheese
    3 dill pickles

    Result: 24.8g carbs - 6.3 fiber = 18.5 carbs. 66% fat, 6% carbs, 28% protein

I am not really sure how to count the pickles. I am depending on these (actually French cornichons, pickled without sugar) to kill sugar cravings, so I'd rather cut something else than cut those! I calculated them as one cup of dill pickles, and everything is already entered into FitDay for today.

    Thank you!

PS: I didn't put butter/EVOO into FitDay but obviously that is what I am cooking and dressing with.

Looks really good. I think that is pretty perfect.

I looked at your fitday and noticed that you entered your eggs as scrambled. Enter them as raw. Fitday is more accurate that way. If you enter them as scrambled fitday assumes you added milk to it or something.

Also are your pickles really that carby? What does the label say?

Yay! Thanks, I feel like I got a gold star on my chart

You are 100% right about the eggs; I changed to raw eggs and it dropped to 22.5g of carb and the same amount of fiber. Thanks for that.

Not sure about the pickles but that's a good point. The last jar caused trauma; it was a traditional Polish pickle that had sugar in the ingredients and I think tanked my first two days of induction. Cornichons won't have this issue, so I just guesstimated with a FitDay generic cup of dill pickles for today's menu. I'll add exact values off the label when today's shopping is done, but it won't have more carbs and it won't have any sugar, so at least I know my menu for today won't go over.

      Does that make sense?
