  • Would this be Induction legal?

This is our very favourite chicken dish and I was thinking of making it for dinner tonight with green beans.

Nigella's Slow Roasted Garlic and Lemon Chicken

We make it with 1 - 2 lemons in 8ths and around 8 cloves of garlic to serve two people. I know those foods are limited, and she shows the lemon and garlic plated with the chicken, but we don't actually plate or eat them with this recipe. The roasting dish is sealed in foil and the thing cooks on low heat for hours, so the flavours steam and infuse the chicken. We lift them from the pan and plate them with no garlic or lemons and very little juice.

    Yes? No? Maybe? Thanks!

Oh I adore this woman. I just love a good cook that so obviously loves food.
The clearly not legal item was wine

I would leave my husband for Nigella in a heartbeat. Of course, he's probably leave me for Nigella too, so I suppose it's fair enough

I'll leave out the wine, maybe do a small amount of stock with a teaspoon of vinegar instead and see how it goes, unless anyone turns up before dinner time to say this is a really bad idea. It's so, so good - you should try it if you've not!

I think that would work out just fine and when you climb the rungs later you can add in the wine.

Oh honey... it turned out stunning!

(I give all credit to Nigella. Throwing stuff in a baking dish is easy; defining what that stuff should be is the hard part!)

I posted an adjusted recipe here, including Mock Cooking Wine which worked very well. Let me know if you like it!

I saved this recipe...it sounds wonderful! Thanks for posting the link...I looked around her site and found all kinds of great recipes, including all the great pumpkin ones I posted in the Food Chat forum.

I had never heard of Nigella so thanks for the intro to some really great recipes.

Well she's British and hasn't really exported as well as Jamie Oliver and some other people. But if you've never seen her in action, find a YouTube video of a cooking show if you can.

I'm not really sure how to say this but most people are entirely happy to watch with the sound turned off She's an amazing cook and quite captivating.

Nigella is perhaps a bit more... well fed:
