    Re: Is this menu OK?

2 cups of lettuce (iceberg) and 2 cups of mushrooms (raw, sliced) only have 5.74 net carbs.

2 cups of lettuce (iceberg) and 1 cup of cucumber (raw, peeled, sliced) only have 4.35 net carbs.

Your vegetable net carbs are very low. The carbs coming from Induction vegetables are carbs that only have a small impact on blood sugar and they come with plenty of vitamins, minerals and other phytonutrients. There's no reason to cheat yourself of nutrition by keeping your net carbs so low. You have 20 net carbs you can consume and most of them should be coming from veggies.

Make sure you are eating enough food (calories)... at least your BMR.

            4???

In any case, nutrition is not measured in cups... and you can consume the same number of net carbs by eating 1 or 6 cups of vegetables. If you want to eat 3 cups of vegetables... or 2 or 4... that's fine. There are ways to increase your net carbs from vegetables without increasing the number of "cups" you eat.

The book actually says 3 cups. But if you stuff your cups with lettuce your total carbs will be low. You have to explore some of the other veggies on the allowed list. There are some that are denser with more carbs than that and you need to get your nutrients in. How about peppers (paprika they are called in Norway), tomatoes, turnips, celery root, brussel sprouts, bean sprouts. There is a long list.

Here are some threads in our FAQ that will help you.

http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)

Do not forget to drink plenty of water and adjust your menu as your appetite changes on the diet. Also you may want to work in some variations. Try some recipes

Here is a good webpage to look at

In stead of relying only on cheese for snacks - perhaps some leftover meat or fish with veggies would be good. I often do boiled eggs,

But your menu is pretty good. It is going in the right direction

Peppers... yes! I love that! I didn't see that on the list initally.

How do I figure out how many cups are in 1 cup of peppers?

It works, if you work it.
Many people are not ready for the diet they start, you need have really decided to do this. Also it helps if you like the foods you can have on the diet. I really like fats and proteins so it is easy for me to do this diet. And I love veggies. I like to sautee them in a bit of olive oil.
