    How much was the fiber from all your food?

    Were the mushrooms raw when you measured? Did the cucumber still have the peel?

      Another thought......when you are talking about the percentages, are you looking at the pie chart or are you looking at the table graph?

      The "percentages" are the percent of total calories....not the percent of total grams.

        The total fibre for all my foods was 5.

        My cucumber did have the skin left on.

        The mushrooms were measured raw.

        I cook the mushooms in the microwave with nothing added and the chicken is grilled with no added fats. Any fats I use are all inputted into fitday.

        I eat when I am hungry and dependant on how hungry what I eat!

          I entered your foods into fitday. I get about 59% fat, 35 % protein and 5% carb.

          If you add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to that menu you posted, then that will give you 64% fat, 31% protein and 5% carb

          It's okay to eat lean meats on Atkins, but if you do, you will need to add fat into your diet. Don't be afraid of fat. Atkins is a high fat diet, not a low fat one. And Atkins isn't a high protein diet.

          That 1 tablespoon of olive oil can be added as salad dressing (for your cucumbers or mushrooms).

              Yes, but as it was said, it doesn't need to be spot on. Regarding the protein percentage, this is something from Atkins Diabetes Revolution (Chapter 13):

              "When the dietary intake of individuals following the ANA has been studied, generally 30 to 35 percent of their calorie intake is protein."

              In Dr. Westman's study on Atkins published in 2002, the average protein intake was 31.8% (and 61.0% fat, 7.2% carbohydrate).

              Also, ketosis has an appetite suppressant effect. For some people, this can lead to undereating. Of course, you won't drop dead if you consistently undereat (), but you want your metabolism to run as efficiently as possible, so you want to make sure you are giving your body the nutrition it needs.

              I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but we count net carbs. Net carbs are total carbs minus dietary fiber. So if a food has 10 g of carbohydrate and 3 g of dietary fiber, it has 7 net carbs.

                yep as megs said you just need to add a bit of fats to your foods and you will be going atkins.

                actually if you go back to your first menu that Georgina put in fitday all you needed was to add a bit of fat to lower your percent of protein and increae your fats to be atkins legal becaue at 1403 cals you don't need to be removing food unless you are a flyweight.

                Aktins will suppress appetite too then you need to follow the rules and not go more then 6 waking hours without eating. if you get to 6 hrs then have a small high fat moderate protein low carb snack and eat more when you are hungry. You will also need to because of appetite suppression make sure you are eating nutrtionally dense food when you do eat so you get the vits minerals and cals you need to keep your body going as you work your atkins to morph your body to the smaller healtheir version you want to be.

                  This means when I put my food in to the fitday diary I will need to go to the nutrional table and minus the dietry fibre?
