  • My menu...

I would like to have some input on my menu. I just want to make sure it appears to be okay with anyone that has done well and is well on the well to their goal. I have to say I am AMAZED that I have SO MUCH energy. I guess I want to make sure I don't mess it up. I work 12hrs night shift also.

B: 2-3 eggs 4 slices turkey bacon (everyday)
    mind morn snack: Atkins shake
L: Turkey burgers w/mayo cheese dill pickles lettuce or shrimp with butter and a salad w/2 tbs ranch dressing
snack: Turkey roll up w/cheese (provolone no carbs!) or Atkins day break peanut fudge bars 160 cal 2 net carbs
D: Some type of meat w/ salad ranch dressing 2 tbs

Drinking 64 ounces of water and have dt. mountain dew.

    Thanks for any input

    Re: My menu...

Hi and welcome. You are a super young grandmother and now you are on your waty to be a super pretty and healthy one too.
Well most of us have very individual routes towards goal. I could not lose on your menu.
It is overdoing sweeteners. The bars from the Atkins company are very sweet and if you mountain dew in addition you are one sweet grand mother. Atkins tells us to have only 3 sweeteners and some of us lose on less. Bars can be problematic for many. They contain many illegal ingredients (if you follow Atkins 2002 as we do here) and they are sweet.
The company use some kind of reasoning to come to a number it calls effective carbs but on the back you can see that they have to list more carbs. Their carb counting may be OK but some have their doubts.

I always recommend going with whole foods, leave bars for emergencies and for when you get closer to goal.

Do you only eat greens for your salad? One rule is that most of your carbs should come from vegetables but on your menu that does not seem to be the case so you may have to look into more substantial veggies.

    And lastly - labelling
Even if a label says zero carb it may have carbs. Manufacturers can round down. So you have to read the list of ingredients ALWAYS and learn to avoid products with sugar and starch.
Cheese always have carb. And Atkins told us to cound 1 carb for every oz.
