    I started on Monday and from Monday to Wednesday I lost 4 pds!! From Wed to Th I lost another pd and from TH to today I have gained a pound!!!!

    This is my menu for today

    Breakast
    2 egg omelet with three slices of bacon

    Lunch
    2 cups of shredded lettuce with 3 tablespoons of ranch dressing and 2 oz of blue cheese dressing

    Dinner
    1 cup of broccoli steamed
    4 oz of chicken mixed with mayo and onions

    Water and water and more water...


    My stats are F, 35 years old, 5ft 8 188 pds

    You are not eating enough. I think I may eat that much for breakfast soem days Were you on another diet before this one. We eat on this diet. You need more protein and likely more fat and definitly more carbs. That looks like way under 10 veggie carbs. Most of your carbs seems to come from dressings.

    Eat protein at lunch. And a little bit more protein at supper. Four oz is not enough for you.

    What are you drinking?

    List your menu in FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and see how it comes out. You should probably eat close to 2000 calories per day and 65% from fat 30 from protein and 5 from carb

    You are doing well in selecting whole foods. I really like that. Just do not starve yourself. Fat will not come off in the atkins system that way

      In addition to what Liv suggested, I would say this - DO NOT WEIGH EVERYDAY! It will drive you nuts.

        What did you have in your Omlette? Also, many salad dressings contain carbs in the form of added sugars. Be sure to count them towards your total. Ceasar dressings seem to be some of the lowest in carbs, and the highest in fat (which is good)!

        Shredded lettuce is not always the best way to get your veggies in. It's fine in moderation as anything else, but try to eat lots of variety in your veggies too. Keep us posted on your progress! Keep up the good work.

          So in 5 days you have lost a net 4 pounds? Not bad when compared to most other diets! I started Induction on the 17th and am trying not to weigh until the end of the two week phase. In the meantime, I'm focusing on lack of heartburn, less laziness, no cravings, and slightly looser clothing. Plenty of positives to keep me happy until I check the weight in another few days.

          Focus on the positive, avoid the scale and be happy as you see success come your way!

            YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!! THANK you for the advice!

            Yes I was on a program prior to this one, it was no sugar and small amount of carbs and it required three 1.5 hour meetings a week and I just could not do it, I have kids, job, etc....

            So for breakfast I had

            2 egg omelet fried in butter!!! 1 oz of hot pepper jack cheese and 4 strips of bacon.

              Sounds yummy!!

              And if you were already on a diet before starting Atkins you are doing really well so far as you will probably not get the effect of an initial loss of 'water weight' like most 'new to diets' Atkineers do.

                ELIZELLEN you brought up a good point which I did not think about!!! The program I was in before I was already on a no sugar low carb diet so I guess I wont be losing 15 pds this week! LOL! I was hoping for a big drop.......but I will be happy with 4 pds! Tomorrow is my one week on Atkins!

                I do have to say I was having terrible acne outbreaks and my skin after ONE week is GLOWING and my acne went away!

                  That's what I love about Atkins... so many perks! Think about it. If you've had this much of a change in just a week, it's going to do wonders for your body over a lifetime.
