  • Ok.... I think I had a good day...

After everything I learned from you all yesterday I REALLY tried hard to get in everything I should have today.
    Here's my fitday journal:
    http://fitday.com/fitness/PublicJournals.html?Owner=jebjow2

As you can see.... I had 1454 calories, 19.1 Net carbs and over 13 of those were from veggies!

I actually tried cauliflower and broccoli today... raw... and liked them !
I had to call my dad and tell him... I'm 31 years old and he still get on me about eating broccoli. He was proud.

I also bought chives, artichokes and more salad veggies today.

I was so busy throughout the day I wasn't able to eat dinner until late, around 830, and I only ate b/c I knew I needed the calories. I wasn't even hungry. I had what was left over from the salad, and a hotdog... b/c there was one lonely one left in the package.

I think I did fairly well today. I didn't have to eat the hotdog or ranch dressing but I was looking for calories too.

    What do you guys think?
    Mini goals:

    5: size 14 jeans

    7: 140 pounds (prepregnancy weight)
    135= weight on wedding day

Half and half isn't allowed on Induction.

How do you get .12 of a cup of mozzarella?

Did you weigh the broccoli and tomato? 1 ounce isn't very much.

Why are you eating reduced fat salad dressing?

Hot dogs are very processed ... they have lots of sodium and they have sugar, too. I would limit these.

    Your calories are still low.

I would try to find some more fiber rich vegetables.

Re: Ok.... I think I had a good day...

I was going to use the heavy cream this morning for my coffee.... but while opening the fridge this morning, it spilt on the floor. So, I had the half and half.

Yes... I did weigh all my veggies. 1 oz. of broccoli was 3 florets. 1 oz of tomatoes was half a big roma tomato and the cauliflower was 2 florets (wasn't sure I'd like it at first).

As for the mozzarella, I used maybe a tablespoon but that wasn't an option. They were left overs or I would have weighed it before stuffing it into the chicken breast.

The reduced fat salad dressing was the only kind I had. It's on my list for my next shopping trip. (I've been shopping 2 times since Saturday... not little run in the store trips either, 90 minute trips).

I really thought I had done good today

What veggies should I eat for more fiber?

        You did do good!

I was just pointing out where you can improve ... nothing that you did would be a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned.

        >> What veggies should I eat for more fiber?>>

The best way to answer this question is to look at the Induction food list, pick out the vegetables you like and/or want to try ... and then look up the nutritional information ... either on Fitday or on the USDA site (www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/) (it can be downloaded to your PC here: Nutrient Data Products and Services

and then you can make a list of those vegetables.

And the flax muffin will add fiber, too!
