  • 3 days in, new to this new atkins way

    Hi,
Please can you check that what I am eating is correct.
Each day I drink plain water about 3 pints and about 6 large black coffees
Breakfast has been bacon and eggs.
Lunch is a meat with salad (cucumber, lettuce, rocket, toms, beetroot slices) olive oil, mozarella or cheddar cheese.
I have eaten sunflower seeds and brazil nuts each day, small handfull.
Dinner tends to be meat, and veg (cauliflower, brocolli, peas, green beans, toms).
And last nite I craved porridge, so i got a small cup, added loads of seeds, flaxseeds and cooked in water. I then mixed in cream at the end. It was luch, im still peeing loads and its meant ive been to the loo! I couldnt eat it all tho!
I know porridge is not good, but i hoped the protein and fibre I added reduced the actual impact it had on my blood sugar.
I am always failed on this plan b4, done it about 3 times because im a chocoholic and didnt do exercise.
This time i think its easier as i can have the veg and im also going to the gym 3 times a week plus walking the dogs.
Please please please give me some advise, i want to stick to this and it to work. I need to lose 5-6 stone! Im 35.

    Welcome to ADBB!

What book are you following... if any? At ADBB we go by the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution... so my comments below are based on that book.

The minimum amount of water on Atkins is 64 oz.

That's a lot of coffee. Excessive caffeine can trigger cravings and slow down weight loss.

    beetroot slices
Beet root is not an Induction vegetable.

I have eaten sunflower seeds and brazil nuts each day, small handfull.
Nuts and seeds are not allowed in the first two weeks.

    peas
What kind of peas? Green peas are not acceptable on Induction.

Atkins has clear rules. It's not only about the impact a food has on your blood sugar.

I would suggest this time you do it correctly, so that you have more chances of making it your way of eating for life.

You could always have vegetables on Atkins... even on the 1972 plan.
