  • could someone please....

My fitday journal should be in my siggy.

I know I'm not doing things right. I'm just not sure how to tweak it. I feel as though I'm eating A LOT.

I'm drinking way more than enough water.

    Thanks everyone.

how far back do you want us to look?

just for the past 2 days the only thing I see that might be an issue is that jalapeno dip. did you check the ingredients?

are you feeding your hunger?or are you holding cals low on purpose too?

are you eating 3 meals and snacks or grazing during the day?

      Re: could someone please....

You can just look at the past couple days. I'm trying to get back to journalling daily so I've missed a couple days here and there.

I'm eating breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack.

I can't figure out how to get more calories in! I never thought I'd hear myself saying that!

I'm feeding my hunger... I'm not hungry at all. I should correct that and say the night I go to work (3-11pm) I do get hungry if I'm not able to eat by 6 or so but I've started bringing some snacks so I can eat real quick here and there. So, the cucumber and celery is for that purpose, or I'll bring turkey lunch meat and cheese... something quick in case I don't get a chance to sit down and eat

try making your snacks more nutrtionally dense by having a fat with some protein and your veggies like having the cheese, turkey and veggies.

          Re: could someone please....

You're eating too many bogus carbs - carbs from sweeteners, cheese, meat, dressings. If you count up how many carbs you get from vegetables (net carbs) and how many you get from bogus sources you will find that you have much more from bogus places. So you have to clean up on your use of stuff with sugars in it (remember lactose is sugar - allowed but not too much).

That deli turkey has to go. Meat should never have that many carbs - what is it - just sugars?

            Re: could someone please....

I don't actually know how many carbs are in the deli meat, I got it from the actual deli and there's no informational info on the package they give me. Maybe I should look for deli meat that gives the exact content (i.e, prepackaged items).... good idea. That's why I need you guys

I guess I need to start analyzing what others eat to get ideas for myself. I think I'm doing good and I'm truly not. I feel as though my induction hasn't even really begun yet

Thanks for the pointers.... I'll keep digging deep for answers.

It is a journey. We get gradually better at it. Don't be too hard on yourself. I think you are off to a good start (better than mine and I survived) I still learn new things and correct myself so keep at it.
Deli meats are tough - you will see that when you start reading labels. There may be a few brands out there that are somewhat acceptable but I never buy that stuff anymore. Make some roast and use the left overs is a better approach.

The deli has the package the meat comes in. You can ask to see it.

For what it's worth, the Dr. Atkins Carb Counter book has coffee at 1 net carb per 8 ounces.

Did you check the list of ingredients on your "packet" of mustard? Sometimes the things in the packets aren't the same (they're worse) than if you used the bottled/jarred version.

I would have more vegetables, too.

                  Re: could someone please....

Okay... I'm off for the next two days so I'm hoping to get things a little better under control. I haven't lost ANY weight for about 5-6 days. I'm stalling at 186-187. I've been exercising, so it must be what I'm eating (or so I guess).

It's weird though, people have really started to notice how I've changed, feels good. I measured myself today and I have lost a couple inches in the past week but not as many as I wish.

That happens. It's normal. It might not have anything to do with what you're eating. It might be just the pattern your body makes.

Is there anything I can do to make myself start losing again? I know that sounds petty but I really want the scale to move. I feel defeated. I also realize it's only been a week of no losses but... up until last week I was losing every day!

measure and see the inches of body fat being shed even when the scale doesn't move.

Stalls are 4 whole weeks of no scale loss nor inches lost so you are not stalled just hesitating on that metal monster.

Your body will lose when it's ready. What you have to do is "do Atkins" properly ... and have some patience.

If Atkins is really a lifestyle change for you, then you have enough time to lose. If you're "just dieting", then ...

Also, I think of stalls as mini maintenance periods. Most of your life will be maintaining your weight and not losing, so it makes sense to get used to the scale not moving.
