  • Induction menu off the top of my head

Just thought up of one in the last few minutes, could someone help me with it?

B: 2 Dobie muffins (from the lowcarbfriends website) .
A spread of butter on each one
    1 cup green tea

S: 2 Oz of cheddar AND 1 cup green tea

L: 1 burger pattie with lowcarb ketchup
    2 cups green beans

    S: 1 cup green tea

D: Protein (ground beef or chicken with lowcarb ketchup)
1 cup cucumber with a pinch of salt

    S: 1 cup green tea

Is that too much green tea? Could someone help me with it, it sounds like something i can stomache ... Seems like everytime i start Atkins I always fall off within the first couple days because I cant stand the low variety of foods, as I am relatively picky and I cant seem to stomache alot of it. I cant eat eggs and usually cant manage to eat chicken unless its cut up into small tiny pieces and mixed with veggies. Suck it up right? I know .......Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
    I'll be 23 next month.
I have a wonderful/supportive bf and a daughter who is a year and a half old.

Are you getting all your water?

Are you drinking an extra glass of water for each cup of green tea?

    >>I cant stand the low variety of foods,>>

Low variety? There's over 50 vegetables, just about any meat you want ... legal dairy.

    >>Dobie muffins (from the lowcarbfriends website)>>

Don't know what those are, so can't comment on them.

Those muffins use 1/4 cup of sweetener for 6 muffins. That's 4 tablespoons. If you are eating two, then you are actually consuming 4 teaspoons of sweetener just with your breakfast.

And then there's the sweetener in the ketchup...

Are you also adding sweetener to your tea?

Sweeteners are limited to 3 servings per day. For granular Splenda, a serving is 1 teaspoon.

Hi courtney. Nice to see you again.
What do you like to eat? Maybe we could figure something out around that.

Hey Liv. I like most vegetables, I cant eat eggs, plan eggs, and usually anything that contains eggs. I cant stand chicken usually. I like Ground beef, and other forms of protein. I don't really know how to add variety and keep it tasty for me, Ive always had the problem (Ive been off and on atkins for almost 8 years now) . Its harder then **** to try to find anything out of the ordinary at the grocery store here, unless your looking for chips, bread or fresh produce. I really do just need help to make a menu for me that I can stick with. When i have something in stone to follow its easier for me to stick with it

Re: Induction menu off the top of my head

I say forget eggs and chicken. There is no rule that you have to eat either. Trying to force them in dunking them in ketchup is not a way to live. You have to LIVE or you are not going to stick to this.
I know what you are saying about sticking to to things. But if your food is as dry as stone you are not going to stick to it. Maybe you should try some variety.

If you like tuna, fish, ground beef, pork, lamb - them eat those. There are marvellous things you can do with those. I eat a lot of ground beef patties. Especially when I get busy because I can pre make them - freeze them and then have them ready in 2 minutes - which may be what I have time for.

It is great that you like vegetables. In addition to the protein with the fat - vegetables are a foundation on this diet. I looked at my plate today and it looked like 3/4 of it was vegetables. And I think that is healthy and helps me stay sane. You can do that too.

How do you like your veggies. I like mine about every way but today I did sautee some in olive oil. I had redpepper, snap peas, mushrooms, onions, broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini sauteed in olive oil with a tad of pepper and a tad of soy sauce. And it was super duper good.

I also use cauliflower to make soup.

So keep working it. It is a HUGE advantage that you like veggies.

Re: Induction menu off the top of my head

I worry that I will eat to much meat because Im picky of the other things.
Id eat meat at every meal.... Is that ok? I know that its kind of ignorant to ask something like that, when Ive been on and off this WOE for life. But I feel like I haven't perfected it yet and that is probably why Ive failed at keeping the weight off.
Could I do something more along the lines of:

B: 1 burger patty (made with ground beef) a dollop of lowcarb ketchup
1 cup cucumber with a pinch of salt
1 glass of water and 1 cup of green tea

              S: 2 oz of cheese

L: Tuna with mayo and half cup romaine lettuce
1 glass of water and 1 cup of green tea

D: 2 burger patties (made with ground beef) a dollop of lowcarb ketchup
2 cups of green beans and a dollop of butter

What else could I put in there, or do I need to change anything? I want to make sure I dont go hungry

Yes it is OK. This is Atkins. I had pork roast for breakfast today. As long as you make sure that you have veggies and fat meat is just the perfect thing to eat. Fish is good too. Do you like fish? A fatty fish like salmon is nice to mix in once in a while. Shrimp is great and easy and quick
Another thing you can try for variety is to buy a protein isolate (whey isolate) and make a shake once in a while. I make those. I like mine with pumpkin these days. I also did one with avocado. Liked it

B: 1 burger patty (made with ground beef) a dollop of lowcarb ketchup

1 glass of water and 1 cup of green tea
Absolutely you could do that. But would you not want a piece of pickle with that. Or cheese or lettuce or mushrooms or onions. I love a loaded burger patty Especially if bacon is involved. Have more water too

                    S: 2 oz of cheese

L: Tuna with mayo and half cup romaine lettuce
1 glass of water and 1 cup of green tea
Yes. But how about some celery bites in there or have it with some olives?

D: 2 burger patties (made with ground beef) a dollop of lowcarb ketchup
2 cups of green beans and a dollop of butter

What else could I put in there, or do I need to change anything? I want to make sure I dont go hungry
How about pork chop instead. A steak, some roast? Some nicely cooked fish?
How about a cup of broth to go with it? A nice salad with a mixture of vegetables? Grilled portobello to use as bun? Some baked turnip fries? The list is endless. But I think you have the basic down.
Cauliflour rice with some curry spice?

Anyways I think that this is good.

Once you get out of induction and onto OWL you can add some cottage cheese or yogurt if you like those and some nuts.
