  • Is my menu okay?

    B--2 eggs 4 slices turkey bacon
    snack--atkins daybreak bar
    L--2 cups lettuce chicken breast 5 ounces with 2tablespoons ranch
    snack--pork rhinds with hot sauce (no sugar/no carbs)
    D--Hamburger with cheese mayo mustard 1 cup lettuce with 2 tablespoon ranch dressing. drinking all my water 1-2 dt mt dews

    Everyone falls for the atkins bar gag.
    sorry, but atkins bar is a no go =/ I know they taste good but there deffiantly not going to help you lose. Might as well cut the mt dew too, thats just plain unhealthy, think of all the chemicals in that stuff! yuck.

    Plus I see veeeeeeeery little veggies.. =] Atkins is hardcore vegetables, don't be afraid of vegetable carbs.
    But don't worry, your doing great by making this first step to atkins. =D Good for you!

      Welcome to revew my menu forum.
      Great that you have started to change yourself.

      Menu was not bad. You are defentily on the right track. I like how you add fat in there with all your meal. Do not be afraid of butter or oil either. You can have real bacon if you like it as it is fattier than turkey.

      The major things that you may want to change is
      Finding a more wholesome snack than the bar. Yes those are convenient but they are very sweet an contain illegal ingredients. I would replace them with things like boiled eggs, meat left overs, veggies dipped in dressing.
      With that bar and the mountain dew you are pushing your sweetener limit and that is not going to help you.

      Veggies is the other issue. We eat lots of veggies on Atkins and not just lettuce. We aim to get a majority of our daily 20 or so carbs from veggies. You have like less that 2 net carb from veggies - your carbs are sweetenres, cheese, atkins bar, dressing. And you have to change that. I would change that by starting to eat more dense carb veggies. Your body will appreciate the fiber in them too.
