    I am 5ft fluctuating from 115-120 and my goal is 110.

    So I do a mix of induction and owl.

    I need some help on my menu I think.

    Here is my typical day:
    5:30am on my way to work snack on Nuts (pecans/walnuts) 1/2 cup total of both combined. I know this is alot so I'm thinking to switch it to either 1/4 cup OR make two deviled eggs instead.

    9:00am Breakfast - 2 over med fried eggs (fried with pam) and a sausage patty from costco says 0 carbs

    12:00pm - Lunch - taco salad - 3oz ground turkey, 1 cup lettuce or spinach, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup salsa.

    2pm - snack - string cheese and a hard boiled egg

    6pm - dinner - two portions of steak (6oz total) salad with low carb dressing like ranch or blue cheese

    sometimes - dessert - jello with 2 tbsp of cool whip or a low carb ice cream bar that is 3net carbs

    Also am I eating enough?
    I do work out 6 days a week. 30 min cardio and 30min lift & abs

    Certainly not allowed on Atkins! I presume you read the list of ingredients? If not:

    The ingredients in the sugar free:

    Why are you using Pam? Why not use a real food like butter or oil?

    I suspect the sausage patty does have carbs, since there's probably sugar in it, along with spices.

    I don't think you're eating enough food ... nor enough vegetables.

        i am the type of person that needs to see results to stay motivated. I know it's awful but I do.
        So i'm trying to reach somewhere near my goal quickly so that I can just do pre-maintenance after. If I don't see results is so hard for me to be motivated.

        What kind of desserts do you guys eat?

        So i'm not eating enough?
        I Also drink two cups of coffe each day I forgot to mention that. I know it says no caffenie cuz of cravings but its something I need and it doesn't make me want any sweets. I do make it a point to drink at least 8 oz of water.
        I only put a 1tsp of creamer in my coffee and one packet of splenda.

        Should I be adding more snacks? And so I can have up to 4oz of cheese right? maybe I can add cheese to my taco salad?

          That's not how Atkins works though.

          I don't. At least not on a regular basis. If I'm at a special dinner, and I've made something, I will.

          It's something you want. You don't "need" caffeine.

          That might not be enough. You should also be having an extra glass for each cup of coffee.

            yes I have the book and I did read it. I know that I'm not completely following it but I do feel that sometimes in order for something to work I have to make it work the way I know I will follow. I know that means results won't be as successful or quick but I find its the only way I can stick to it which is more important to me.

            I have tried a week with no coffee and a week with coffee with the same foods and found no difference at all. That is the only reason I allow it.
            And sometimes I will chose decaf instead of caffeine but most of the time caffeine. I use a powdered creamer that is 1 carb.

            I do drink an extra cup of water for every cup of coffee so yes 10 cups plus my two cups of coffee.

            Is there a good site that tells me how much I should eat? I mean based on Atkins I don't think any of the calculators really will help me since i'm not counting calories but carbs right? So how can I figure out how much more I need to eat?

              That's not allowed on Atkins ever. Did you read the list of ingredients?

              By eating frankenfoods?

              You might check your BMR here:

              BMR Formula

              Many find that eating 250 calories above that works.

              I think you should get rid of the junk products you're eating and focus more on the core of Atkins, whole, unprocessed foods.

              How many net carbs do you have in a day?

                Ok i can do no creamer.

                Besides the sausage patty and the desserts I mentioned was there anything else that was junk?

                that site says I need 2495 to maintain so I guess I will shoot for 2,000
                does that mean I try to not be under 2,000?

                how come some diets is about 1200 calorie diets and they lose?

                  Anyone can starve and lose weight. Doesn't mean they're not hungry or healthy.

                    real cream like half and half or is there actual cream? Sorry I never use it so I dont know.

                    But you said to eliminate the junk so I wasn't sure what other things were on my menu that may be junk?

                    But if I do 2495 - I dont want to maintain? i want to lose so don't I reduce that? Man that seems really high!

                      Real cream ... often called "heavy cream" or "heavy whipping cream".

                      Comes in a carton by the milk.

                      As I said, many find that eating 250 calories above their BMR allows them to lose.

                      You can try 2000, see how it works. And you can always increase.

                        Well 2495 was factoring my exercise too. Based on the link on that page.

                        according to the app i use to track my food. I have eaten 12.5 so far and I haven't eaten all my food yet. I already put my lunch on there but not my dinner.
                        I shoot to be below 20 right now. Once i'm close to my goal like within 5lbs I plan to add more carbs.

                          That's not even Induction eating, much less pre-maintenance.

                          That's not how Atkins works though.

                          Maybe you should try doing Atkins by the book, rather than the "love777" plan?

                            I did my own Atkins and I did have success. When I came to this board to get advice I got the same advice you are seeing here. You will not get a lot of support doing it your way. I understand what you are doing but others are strictly by the book and that is perfectly fine. But if you are not seeing the results you want then why don't you try it by the book? See what happens. Just remember, an actual Dr. wrote the book and used research to get to his plan.

                            You are very close to your goal weight so it may take you weeks to get there. And I mean that when I say it. This is not about instant gratification which I know we all want. Trust me, just weeks ago I was screaming at the scale until I just let it go and realized I wouldn't make my goal in my needed time frame.

                            My point is when I started to do things by the book I saw changes. I tried my, way it worked, but it wasn't the best plan. The more I hang around this board the more I see that people try it their way come back to the DANDR way.

                            I told people that if I was wrong I would come back and say I was. I was, the book works. And remember if you start the WOL by the book you won't be perfect and no one is. You will have some hiccups and even mess up unintentionally and that's ok.
