  • My menu

I am approaching two months on Atkins. I started at 250 pounds, ended induction at 235 and I've been weighing in at 234-230 for six weeks. Inches are tough to gauge as I've measured myself all over the map. I seem to gain and lose a few inches around my waist and hips the same way I am losing and gaining the same 4 pounds. I don't know if I am in a stall or if I am a slow loser.

    Yesterday's menu:

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled with 1 oz. heavy whipping cream, 3 slices of bacon, 1 cup jicama

Lunch: 2 ounces of sliced cheddar cheese, 1/2 a cucumber, 1/2 large tomato, 1 oz. dry roasted peanuts, 1 roasted chicken leg quarter

Dinner: 2 hamburger patties and 2 cups of steamed green beans with butter

This is a pretty typical day for me. Some mornings I have 3 eggs with a little cheese sprinkled on, no meat, or 2 eggs with sliced veggies. Some days for lunch I'll take a flax MIM and top it with natural peanut butter or cream cheese with sliced veggies. I try to eat jicama or flax each day to ensure I am getting a minimal amount of fiber.

I think I am doing OK for water, I drink 80 ounces on a bad day, between 100-120 most others. I've been consuming 1400-2000 calories per day. I am 5 ft. 2. and 35 years old.

I walk 3-4 days per week, several miles at a time and doing a few strength training exercises.

    I take a multi-vitamin without iron and a vitamin B supplement.

I am not a peanut butter fan, and so far I've not had anything that has given me intense food cravings or headache or any of the other symptoms. I also have a glass or two of wine each week.

I am not trying to be a slave to the scale, and I am not losing motivation as I feel so great - I just want to know if anything obvious sticks out to you all.

    Thanks!

    Re: My menu

Rung 5 - how many carbs are you up to? Are you being very careful in measuring those. I know it can get a bit tiresome to do this but in OWL we need to keep an eye on this
Do you use fitday? If not try to plug your menu in and see how it comes out it calories and carbs. I was also wondering how much fat that is

Glad you hang in there Marla. In our journey sometimes we do see these pauses. They are frustrating but they happen

      Thanks for the input Liv!

I am at 30-35 net carbs, mostly veggies and cheese. I do have a strawberry every few days, usually mixed in with some fage.

Fat percentages stay in the 60% range - though some days I hit up to 72%. I use evoo to prepare chicken with and the ground beef is the cheap kind loaded with fats.

Maybe I have a woosh coming

When you got to 35 carbs you were still losing?

          Re: My menu

Well see, this is the problem. I am losing all the time - the same 4 pounds. Friday I weighed 232, Saturday I weighed 234 and this morning I weighed in at 230. It just bounces all around within this four pound range. Some weeks it seems I am losing steadily and then one morning I'll wake up at 234 again. It's like that movie Groundhog Day! I think I've lost this 4 pounds ten times over. FWIW, I weigh daily, first thing in the morning without clothes.

I did rush to get to rung 5. Do you think I should re-start OWL and take each rung slower?

            Re: My menu

Rung 5 is pretty special. I it would probably been better if you had switched things up and tried the alcohol rung sooner than to rush. But there you are so what I would do now would just keep eating clean where you are and see if things improve for you.

Watch that you are getting a lot of veggies. do not forget to have the veggies from the salad list as well

Did you join the Veggie Challenge. I highly recommend it
