Re: 44 lbs down in 3 months!

Wow Eveeryone! I am so flattered! I don't even think I have any words to say how much I appreciate all of the kind words from ya'll, other than thank you! So ......

        Thank you!

My exercise regimine is really simple. As long as there are kilometers of free road outside of my doorway, I don't see too much reason to join a gym right now. First of all, being a Stay At Home Mom, I can't really afford a gym membership with only one income coming into our home, so there goes excuse #1 to not exercise, the I can't afford a gym membership excuse! I have used it often in the past LOL! Then I have a dvdd player so I can't say I can't do cardio work. A $15 dvd from Walmart and a yoga mat is all I needed and a set of light handweights are all of the equipment I use. I think the total cost of these itemc came to about $45.... way cheeper than even one months gym fees.

I work out 5 times a week. About 3 times a week I take my son for a nice fast paced walk in his stroller for about 45 minutes, if we stay out longer at the pack, great! If we need to go home after 25 minutes, no problem! At least I got out and moved my body right? Then 2 or more times a week if I get time, I do my dvd. It is called "from fat to firm" and it is a choose your level dvd, so it is great for people of all exercise levels. You move up the levels to challenge yourself as you are able. i usually work at level two with some level one exercises. And only 2 level 3 exercises.

Anyways, the eating part of Atkins is paramount to success, but without the exercise you are losing fat but not nesecarily reshaping and toning the muscles underneath. Especially for women, exercising battles osteoperosis, and for everyone it battles heart health, reduces blood pressure and helps with depression. It improves your posture and has tooo many benefits to list here. And if for nothing else, it speeds up your weight loss efforts.

Again, thanks everyone for all of your kind words, now get out there, sign up for a challenge, and work your atkins program!

For anyone interested, I will be hosting a challenge that is designed just like my personal challenge to achieve these results. If you'd like to join, sign up begins April 15th and will begin on May 1st. Hope to see you there! Tell your friends!

Thanks jengeesh and FG. I feel a lot better about how I look. I am actually getting a bit too small for some of my size 18's! Which feels awesome! I haven't been an 18 for about 10 years, so I am really loving what exercise has done for me. See yah all around! And if your exercising, I'll see even less of yah! LOL TTYL

WOW! 44 lbs! You must feel so great! I can not wait. You are a huge motivation to me for sticking to this and also the exercize. I was never much of an exercizer, but I am trying to now. I have a 6 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. I love that you go walking with your kid, I really should do that. Do you go out in the winter? I am waiting till it is actually warmer and no snow.

                    Way to go!

Re: 44 lbs down in 3 months!

Well, I do go out but not out lately! I have about 3 inches of snow on the ground where I live, so strollers aren't so good in that. But when it is clear outside we are at the park or on the trail! I do go out alone sometimes when dh is home, and I mall walk with my son, and I am currently climbing my stairs at home. I did 90 times up and 90 times down so far today. I have a bike hitch that my ds can sit in when the weather is more bike friendly, and I like that I am modeling healthy behavior for him to learn and my girls to take on as well. And I love doing my dvd's too. My ds likes to bounce when the music is playing durring my workout! Too cute! LOL

YaniBoni, AussieInaz and Tammy, thank you for your kind words!

AussieInaz, I can't not stress enough how much I hated to exercise before I started Atkins. And really, it took a bit of time for me to enjoy it, even a couple of weeks I'd say to crave it. But exercise is a part of Atkins. Dr. A says exercise is non negotiable! ( I hated that he said this and I actually ignored it and thought I could do Atkins without it. But I think the results speak for them selves. It was worth starting)

In general, I still dislike the feeling of exercising, at first. But once zi get into what ever it is I am doing I get the endorphin rush and feel my heart pumping, my muscles working, and my lungs working to give my body oxygen. These are all really great feelings because I can see and feel my body working to be healthier. I think I owe it to my body to give it what it has needed all of these years. I abused it long enough and it still took care of me. So now it is time I made amends with my body and gave back all of the health I have deprived it of. We now happily coexist...... my body and I! LOL

Does this sound like I have a split personality? LOL

I can see my arms taking on some shape and mussel so its making me do it more now. I cant wait to see your update pictures and see how much more you have changed. I love seeing every ones before and after pic.
