        Re: Aye Carumba

Thank you all for the support. My knee is still not right and my foot and ankle are still messed up as well...this really limits my activities....so atkins is going to be a life saver for me if i can pull it together once again.

My motivation is in my swollen face in the pic above...you can tell I've not been healthy, active, or happy since my surgery.....time to get going!

Well you've come to the right place! Don't worry...you have it in you to do this, and with all the support here, you're sure to succeed! I can relate with the swollen face thing...but you know I took a pic of my face before, and then again 22 days after, and it was a lot less bloated and puffy! So I definately recommend taking a picture now and again in a couple of weeks...it was a real motivator for me and a confirmation that what I was doing was working

Use your picture as motivation. When I look back at photos of me a year ago I look like a completely different person. You can do it!!!

                      Re: Aye Carumba

Well, I'm still alive, though I've been kinda on and off track. I've done okay with getting things back in order, but not so much on the medical front. I was kinda side-tracked by a round of steroids for a crack in my collarbone (long story, don't ask) and that really set me off for a while, but I'm still doing MUCH better than before. You can see some change in my face. I have to learn to NOT use my upper body as compensation for my lower body....and trying to find exercises I CAN do is hard. Walking (as long as it's level ground) is okay, but I've done some face plants on uneven ground and stairs....so it's a daily effort for me.
