    Re: An updated photo

thanks everyone again for your kind words. I intend to be back on the board full time again now, but not during working hours, just at work.

Joy (validrouge) I am not running at the moment, but do need to get back to it fairly soon as I have just learnt that I have a guaranteed place in next years London Marathon. Unfortunately I have recently started smoking again, that has to stop or I will never be able to run. Shouldnt be too hard to give up though as only just re-started.

    Are you still running, Joy?

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I want to assure you when I saw that first pic, my intitial reaction was " wow... he is soooo attractive!", then I thought "wow, he looks great... where are the pounds he is talking about" I truly did not see what you are seeing. And still don't.

Get back in the saddle and you will be seeing yourself through my eyes in no time!

Again, thanks for your kind words. I guess it all comes down to "ex fat person syndrome" where we all still wear out "fat goggles". I am not sure I will ever get rid of them, but I will get rid of the 10lbs that I have gained.

many people say that I look like an average sized guy now, but i still dont feel it, (and wont probably for a while). As I said its all back to the fat goggles.

        Welcome back, Rich!

Giving up the cancer sticks has got to be tough, but you can do it---I've read you've done it before. Besides, you need those lungs healed so you can make that marathon! I'm sure you don't need C25K to bring you back up to speed with the miles, minutes, etc., but just incase, we could always use another guy in that thread, too

And no, you don't have a double chin---it's the shadow in the pictures

Rich, if it makes you feel any better, I gave up running and starting smoking again... which needs to change in the very near future.

No, I'm not. I've been slugging and am up about (truth be told) 16 lbs from when I stopped! BOOHOO! I haven't been eating off plan either. Ugh. I have been lifting weights though.

This week my weight lifting plan requires HIIT, so I'll start back running again. I have no plans to do another half marathon or marathon. But I do want some weight loss and I need some cardio and weight training to do it.

Since you've got that goal of the marathon, it's time to put the cigarettes down and start a new running plan. Slow and gentle, but consistent.

Great pics... wow, what a difference. It's definately great that you're jumping back on before it gets too out of control, which we all know is really easy to do...

Ok Ok, Everyones before and after photos are fantastic, However..I have been waiting to find one like yours...WOW... I have just started induction, 9 days and 7lbs and you have given me total inspiration to make it to the other end, You look fantastic. I am longing for the day to wear a singlet and jeans and look sporty and healthy like you. We all know what it takes to get there, and what a life changing experience it is. I am thankful for the experience because when we make it to the other end it makes us all grasp life by the horns and ride it to the end, If you were always thin, you would never know what you were missing out on right?? ( I was living life ontop of a cloud after losing 70lbs ...then I married a chef....not recommended!!!...still in love with him, just divorcing his food for a while). Thanks again
