Re: 6 days into the induction phase.....
Hello Rose,Originally posted by heavenly rose08 View Posthi my name is heavenly rose08 ,i started the induction phase on 9/5/08,i've lost nine pounds in about 5 days ,but since i am only 4'9 i still can't tell any diffrence what so ever, anyways i really miss the comfort food i really need support so that i can keep going strong!

Here's Lindas site for recipes Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home . You'll find Induction recipes there aswell.
As far as the Tic-Tacs. I'm the wrong person to ask. I personally wouldn't eat them during Induction. Make sure you count them in your daily sweetner allowance, 3 servings a day. I'm not sure how that would calculate for Tic-Tacs.
CONGRATULATIONS on the pounds gone forever! Great job!
Remember, this isn't a race, it's a lifestyle. Take one day at a time. You are going to get healthy, healthy, healthy!
Wishing you the best of health and lite!
Sincerely, Sherri

Re: 6 days into the induction phase.....
Hey Rose-
I began the Induction on 9/4/08 and so far I've lost about 9 lbs as well. So I'm kinda in the same boat you are! I'm actually feeling great about my progress. Did you take some body measurements before you began? I'm going to take mine every week...I get to measure again tomorrow and I can't wait to see what the results are. Keep motivated girl because you can do it!

Re: 6 days into the induction phase.....
Hey Rose! Congrats! It's good that you are here.... I started back in August and found the boards to be a GREAT source of inspiration. Today I had a weak moment. The cafeteria at work has a Mexican Fiesta bar every Wednesday. It was previously my FAVORITE day of the week. I am a nacho-haulic. I was thinking before lunch.... This is my third week already.... induction is over and I can add things back to my diet. Maybe just this once.... Then I thought.... YOU KNOW WHAT?! I am going to do the right thing here because EVERY time you fall off the wagon, you have to start all over again. You have to go through that three or four day period where your body has to start the ketosis all over again and you feel like crap. I wasn't about to let that happen after feeling so good. Also.... I am one of those people who don't let other people control me. So WHY would I let FOOD? Why would I become a slave to something that in the end is going to kill me? It's crazy! So.... for lunch today I made the right choice. I went for the salad. It WAS a taco salad mind you.... but minus the shell.
Hang in there girl! You are doing great! Visit this board EVERY DAY.... it's WONDERFUL!

Re: 6 days into the induction phase.....
WOW! 9.5.08 was my start date too. So far I have lost about 9 lbs also. To stave off my comfort food cravings I have been making the Mock Danish muffins. They taste close enough, are filling and certainly curbed my sweet tooth. From what I have read it is a induction friendly receipe.
I have decided the only way this diet will become a lifestyle is if I start cooking for myself. I am in no way form or manner a cook so this should be interesting. I have been printing out receipes before lunch and I buy all of the missing items at lunchtime so I have what I need to make dinner. I bring my lunch to work lately I have been alternating between chicken salad and tuna salad. No bread naturally. I find adding fresh chopped parsley and freshly grated parmesan cheese to the salads gives it a more interesting flavor then plain mayo+tuna. Oh ya, I also find using Helminz's (sp?) new Olive Oil flavored Mayo makes a HUGE difference.
Keep up the good work! My starting weight was 258.8 on 9.5 my goal is 195 by Jan.09 I am 6'1" (if that makes a difference)
