Thank you for being so supportive I see from your stats, that you have also done a terrific job on losing some major weight. Congrats for losing it and maintaining it. It's seeing people being able to maintain there weight loss that gives me the most inspiration. Don't get me wrong.. losing weight isn't always easy to do, but I do believe it's alot easier than maintaining it.

I have lost weight before, and always end up gaining it back and then some extra on top of it. This time I am determined.. it's staying off for good! Looking at the pictures of what I looked liked back in June and July before I started Atkins.. make me want to get ill and cry. I can't believe I looked like that!

As for sharing tips.. I started out by cutting out sugar, started drinking water, started to eat several times a day, and cut my carbs down to 20 or less a day. One of my biggest problems is actually eating. I've never been much of an eater, but when I did normally eat in the late afternoon or at dinner.. I made poor choices.

I have been joining challenges, and I feel it helps a great deal in keeping us accountable. I am on my second water challenge, an on-going stair climbing challenge, and I joined a squat challenge for the first time. Some of the challenges are easier than others.. but that's why they call them challenges right? LOL

I weigh myself normally once a week and on that morning I also take all my measurements. Just for kicks, I sometimes grab some clothes that didn't fit, and see how close I am to getting in them again. It's a great feeling when they actually fit! I am now starting to fit into a couple of 13's, and I'm amazed due to the fact I can't recall when I last was able to wear anything below a size 14. Well back in 1993 I was wearing a size 11.. but that seem like a lifetime ago! I've come accustom to wearing size 21 pants/shorts and size 2X-4X shirts, and actually still find myself wandering around in the plus sizes of the stores forgetting that I now can shop in the "regular" section.

I am not perfect by any means! I have had my weak moments and cheated but then I just have to remind myself how far I've already come in such a short time, and do I really want to end up being that unhealthy woman I was again or worse? So I then pick myself up again and go until the cheat finds me again and repeat the lil inner self lecture.

Today is a perfect example.. The day started off wonderfully! I was down another 3lbs & 1.75inches for a grand total of 45lbs & 50.5inches lost in less than 4 months! But.. then not filling up in the morning with anything other than coffee left me not feeling well and looking for something.. that something turned out to be a rice crispy square that had like 17 carbs in it.. then more coffee and nothing else all day.. I came home at 9:30pm with a personal pizza for my dh to have before he left for work.. ummm he didn't eat most of it. I should have eaten something proper today, because for the first time in 4 months.. I ended up eating pizza! I had three pieces.. OMG.. it was sooooooooo good.. in the moment. I can only imagine how many carbs that amounts to.. On the positive side.. there are still two pieces left in the box! I'm not touching them! Tomorrow will be a better day.

This is a hard task.. changing ones complete lifestyle.. however if we take lil baby steps, watch our carb intake and support one another.. I believe that together we can beat this thing called obesity!

YOU CAN DO THIS! I BELIEVE IN ALL OF YOU!

Re: Trying To Find My Sexy Self Again..

While checking out all of the ladies' photos in this thread, I am impressed with the number of years reclaimed in your weight loss successes. As a man, we have an instant physical response to the appearance of a woman which tells us either 'yes' or 'no.' It has nothing to do with whatever else we are thinking about. And you ladies are doing a great job of getting back those earlier years, that would have been gone forever had you not lost weight. Great job!

                            Jim -

Thank you for your kind words but I have to say that it's not only the women that gain back some of there youthfulness.. as I have seen many men also look years younger as they get healthier.

There is no denying that being over-weight is hard on our bodies, so I guess it's mother natures way of rewarding us for reclaiming our health!

Ohh and just wondering.. does that mean I'm a "yes"? hahaha Just kidding.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
