re: Big Daz's Atkins journey so far
I see a definite difference. Well done and congrats on the ten lbs lost!
You know, you don't have to stay in induction if you're bored with the foods. Many people lose even faster in OWL, particularly on the early rungs, so don't be nervous about making the move. You'll enjoy the added choices and the experimenting is fun.
Before and after:

re: Big Daz's Atkins journey so far
Thanks, I am glad you can see a difference! I have lost a total of 17lbs in 5 weeks so that's not bad going I guess.Originally posted by sallyseachange View PostI see a definite difference. Well done and congrats on the ten lbs lost!

Maybe you are right, it could be time for me to move on from the induction to OWL. An extra 5g of veggies would be quite appealing at the moment as I could only afford a measly 100g of sprouts with my dinner tonight!
I'll have to check out that website which OzLover posted to find some inspiration. I do have a Atkins cookbook but I found the portion sizes are tiny when trying to keep carbs to less than 10g for the evening meal.

re: Big Daz's Atkins journey so far
Have you tried Linda's recipes? http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html They're immensely popular. The induction recipes are marked with an asterisk.
I agree, in OWL, having the extra veggies is great and no one ever gained weight from veggies (well, hardly anyone!!!). You can stay on rung one for a good long time if you like.

re: Big Daz's Atkins journey so far
I think you're doing great job. I can see some major progress happening in your pics.
Induction doesn't have to be boring with the same foods and meals. Spice things up a bit, get some good recipes and start to really enjoy your foods or you run the risk of getting off track.

re: Big Daz's Atkins journey so far
Thanks for the encouragement. I have been playing it a bit safe because at the moment it's pretty difficult having a small demanding baby in the house and a vegetarian wife so I usually just throw a steak on the George Foreman grill and have 100g of an induction veg with it!Originally posted by Desihue View Post

I did try something new tonight though.
OK not very pizza-like in reality! The mushrooms were so soggy once I cut into them that the juice filled my plate haha. It wasn't so bad though, and my wife said she enjoyed it. A nice change from eating meat every day!
Tomorrow lunchtime I hope to try this out.
It helps that I have this week off work. In the office I just eat a spinach & watercress salad everyday with tuna or chicken and a springling of cheese. Quelle adventurous!
I have started OWL now so I am allowing myself 5g extra veggies. Hopefully that will help me to expand my menu a bit.

I can see the difference! I can remember when I started, not being able to see enough change in the photos, it's discouraging, but believe us! We see your progress. Keep it up.
As for me, I'm just checking back after a long time away. I'm here to cheer us both on, as I have some catching up to do! Great job!F/39/5'6" HW:227

re: Big Daz's Atkins journey so far
Great job! You started right around the same time that I did, so I've been following your progress as motivation for me. Trust me, I know the feeling of being completely tired of meat, eggs, and cheese. For me it's the eggs. I'm sooooooo sick of eggs, but they do fill me up. How do you like My FitDay? I just noticed it and thinking about joining it.
